Hi Friend! We have been working on planting a new hydrangea hedge at our new property, and I am so excited with the progress. One of the questions I got asked the most when we were moving was "won't you miss your hydrangeas?". While I was certainly bummed to leave our 8ft tall hydrangea hedge at our last house (shared HERE), I had every intention of recreating the same look at our new house. Knowing that limelight hydrangeas mature quickly, I knew it would only take a few years for them to take off, and they certainly have! Today I'm sharing what our limelight hydrangeas look like in the fall, and the progress we have made so far. Come and see ~ ... Read More about Limelight Hydrangeas in the Fall
Fall Home Tour | 2023
Fall is in the air friend, and with that I begin to turn my focus from being outside in the garden to back in doors. Fall inside our home means preparing for winter. Extra blankets get put back on beds that were tucked away from summers warmer months, and chunky knit throw blankets get tucked in baskets so they are at arms reach. I swap out my throw pillow covers in the living room with hues that feel more like fall, and candles get swapped out too from scents island margarita to harvest apple spice. I like to focus on all the cozy senses of fall, since for me it is all about nesting, and making our home feel comfortable as we prepare for the colder months ahead spent indoors. Come and ... Fall Porch | 2023
Hi Friend! Fall is in the air, and boy do I have a fun little makeover to show you! A few weeks back I was browsing through FB Marketplace looking for antique foldable chairs, and stumbled across the cutest little bistro table set! Well, it wasn't cute at first, but I knew this set had plenty of potential. With a good scrubbing, and some spray paint this bistro set got a completely new look, and it fits perfectly in an empty corner we have on our back porch. Come and take a look~ ... Dining Room Updates | 2023
Hi Friend! After recently sharing our fireplace makeover with you, I realized I haven't shared the updates that have taken place in our dining room. It's probably because these updates happened slowly over the course of a year. One little update at a time our dining room is starting to take shape, and look more and more like the space I envisioned. Of course, I still have things I want to do in the space to add more warmth and character. But after looking back at where we started, and how bare our dining room sat for awhile, I'm excited to share the most recent updates our dining room has had. It's a great reminder that progress can be made, if it is in the form of one tiny step after ... Read More about Dining Room Updates | 2023

Fall Planter Ideas
Hello Friend! The kids are back to school, and even though our temperatures aren't reflecting it, as we make our way into the middle of September, I know fall weather will be here soon! We have have had a bit of a heat wave here in the northeast these last two weeks (I think summer wanted one last hoorah!), which makes it hard to get in the mood to decorate for fall. But nonetheless, my wheels have been turning on what I want to create for our fall planters this year. So I thought it would be fun to share some fall planter ideas with you, as I brainstorm what I might want to do this year, and help us get in the mood. Let's get ready for fall ~ ... August | Embracing Transition
Hi Friend! I recently heard that August is the transition month between summers sweet ending and falls new beginning. I think whether you have kids in the house who are getting ready to transition back to school, or not, you can't deny there is a shift in the air as we are on the brink of a new season arriving. I still find myself asking the questions "how are we in August already"? Yet here we are, with the kids going back to school in less than two weeks. I've been learning to embrace a few things as the seasons shift from one to the next, and become more aware of transition and the effects it has on me, and I wanted to share a few thoughts on those with you! So as I savor the last bit ... Read More about August | Embracing Transition
Summer Living Room | 2023
Hi Friend! It's hard to believe that summer is almost coming to end as we find ourselves in the middle of August. These past few weeks we have had the most perfect summer weather. The kind where you can't wait to throw open the windows, or head out to the hammock in your backyard for a midday summer nap. However you have been spending your summer I hope it's been a good one. This past week I felt so inspired to get out my camera and take a few pictures around our living room, something I haven't done in a long time. So before the weather begins to turn and we are talking all things fall, here are a few snippets around our living room, and how I've styled it for summer. Come and See ~ ... Fireplace Makeover Part 2 | continued
Hello Friend! Yesterday I shared the beginning phase of our fireplace demo! And oh my word was that a messy process. Tearing out brick and mortar is no easy task, and involved all hands on deck. We hung plastic up to try and contain the dust. Put drop cloths down to protect the floors, but nothing prepares you for removing brick piece by piece. It was a messy job, but a necessary one if we were going to be able to give our fireplace the makeover we were longing too! Today we are picking up where I left off - the fun part! Or as I like to refer to it as the "pretty" part, where we begin to rebuild the front of the fireplace into the look we are wanting. Come and see ~ ... Fireplace Makeover Part 2 | Demo
Hi Friend! Today I'm sharing part 2 of our Fireplace Makeover - the demo! If you haven't read the first post about our fireplace makeover, I recommend starting there first. You can read it HERE, and then come back to this post :) Have you heard the saying that goes something like "It has to get worse before it can get better" ? I feel like in most cases with demo that saying applies, it was certainly the case for our fireplace. I'm sharing the fireplace demo process with you, because it also helps explain a little bit better why we made some of the choices we did when for our fireplace makeover. Let's get started ~ ...
