Currently Loving vol. 7
Hello Friends! Every once in awhile I share this kind of post. A random mash up of all the things I'm currently loving, or crushing on at the moment. While these "Currently Loving" posts seem to always have the same flow and feel to them, the things I share in them are completely at random. These posts always end up being my favorite type of posts to share, because I imagine us sitting down with a nice hot beverage in hand, as we catch up on life and other things :) With the seasonal change right upon us, it felt fitting to share some of things I'm loving right now as we enter into spring! Let's get chatting, shall we ~ ... Read More about Currently Loving vol. 7
Cozy Fireplace Seating Area
Hello Friends! Today I'm sharing the progress we've made around our fireplace. When we first moved into this house I just knew I wanted to create a cozy seating area in front of our fireplace. I imagined myself sitting there, listening to the crackle of the fire while enjoying a quiet moment with a hot cup of coffee. The space around our fireplace is not large enough to be a room all on its own, but I approached decorating this space with the mind set of how I would want a keeping room to feel. I had a few challenges in making sure the furniture I brought in not only fit the space well, but could hold up to the everyday traffic. And I think you will see I found the perfect chairs to ... How I Style my Hutch for Spring
Hello Friends! It may not feel quite like spring outside this week here in New England, but the calendar tells me it's coming. March can always feel like a weird month, almost stuck in this in-between sort of state. With the tease of a couple of warm days, and day-light savings, the promise of spring is on the horizon. But with the bitter cold days of winter still lingering sometimes you aren't sure what season you are in. I've been doing a little refreshing around our home, with spring on my mind, so today I'm sharing how I styled my hutch for spring! Come and take a Look ~ ... Finding Contentment with our Homes
Hello Friends! Do you struggle with finding contentment in your home? Perhaps you are in a season of life where your living room is covered with toddler toys, or the room makeovers you've been dreaming to accomplish haven't found room yet in the budget to be completed? I would be lying if I told you that I've never struggled with this feeling - I completely have. Friend, I am no stranger to these feelings, I only know how real they can be and how loud they can get inside our heads. I have definitely struggled with these feelings more than once over the past 10 years - almost 20 if I’m thinking back to my first apartment, and over the past almost two decades, I’ve learned a few ways to ... New Home Office
Hello Friends! Today I am sharing with you a brand new space from our (new to us) home. One that you have not seen before, and didn't even make the cut in the New Home Tour (shared HERE), or the New Home Tour video (shown HERE). This room is located in the front of our house, just off of the kitchen, and when we first moved in it served as a space to hold moving boxes we were still going through. It was great to be able to shove some boxes off to the side (out of sight) when we first moved in and were unpacking, which is why this room never made the cut. But I'm happy to say we now have this room up and functioning as a home office, and I can't wait for to see the transformation! Come ... Read More about New Home Office
Embracing Winter
Hello Friends!! For years, I always felt like the winter season should be summed up to just the month of December, where the holidays are the main focus, and then I would rush off to "wishing" away the next 3 months in hopes of an early spring. But I found that in doing so, I was robbing myself of the gift that the winter season can be. Yes I realize I just said that the winter season can be a gift, and before you think I'm crazy allow me to explain. Winter isn't just meant to be summed up as the time when Christmas comes, and then we hurry off to the next season. There are tiny gifts tucked away in what can seem like an endless cold and dark season. Ones that I've begun to unpack for ... Read More about Embracing Winter
How to Create a Gallery Wall
Hello Friends!! When it comes to hanging things on the walls in our homes there is nothing I love more than creating gallery walls. I sometimes wonder if it speaks to my teenage years where I would cover the walls in my room with giant collages of cut out pictures from magazines. There are many different ways you can create a gallery wall, and styles depending on the frames you choose and how you group them. I recently added a new gallery wall in our living room, so today I'm going to share my process with you in how I go about choosing art to create a gallery wall. Let's dive in ~ ... Sources from our New Living Room
Hello Friends!! I can't even tell you how excited I was to read all of your sweet comments about the progress that has happened in our new Living Room. I'm still referring to it as our "new" living room, because well compared to our previous living room, this one still feels new! I shared in my previous post how when we first moved into our new home, the living room area definitely had me stumped. But I knew that if I focused on the things I could change, rather than the things that I couldn't - like the off centered windows, or weird layout, that I could create a space that I loved. And it showed! You all agreed after seeing the progression at how much the progress made in our living ... Read More about Sources from our New Living Room

Hello Friends!! Today kicks off Day 2 of the Gift of Home tour series, and I am so excited for you to see what my friends and I are sharing today. If you missed Day 1, you can see it HERE, and remember each blogger who is sharing in this blog hop is also giving away a copy of my NEW book!! You can enter for a chance to win on each blog, so be sure to stop by and visit! I debated on whether I should share something I loved most about our previous home, or if I should share something I love most about our new home. Of course there is much to love about our new home, but I will be honest, none of the rooms feel quite finished yet. But I am a big believer in progress. Small tiny changes that ... How To Create a Space You Love | The Gift of Home
Hello Friends!! Do you have a favorite spot in your home? Or perhaps a favorite piece of furniture or art? Is it that just right throw pillow that holds your favorite pattern or color? Or maybe it's a view? I think sometimes it's easier to pick out the things we don't like in our homes and focus on those, but what if we flipped the narrative and focused on just one thing we loved about our home instead? Whether it's a room, an architectural detail, or a piece you used to decorate with inside that room, I hope you all have something in your home that you love. I talk a lot about loving the space you live in, and today to celebrate the release of my new book, The Gift of Home, I've asked ... Read More about How To Create a Space You Love | The Gift of Home
