I shared earlier this week that it was 6 years ago on March 28th that we signed on our first home! To celebrate that milestone I’m sharing how different rooms in our house have progressed over the past 6 years. Yesterday I shared all of our Dining Room before and afters. If you haven’t had a chance to see it yet, you can click HERE to see the transformation! There are lots of fun before and progress pictures I’m sure you will enjoy! Today I’m sharing our Living Room Progression, and how this room has evolved over the past 6 years. It’s undergone quite the transformation as I discovered my true style and really established what I love in my home. [Read more…]
I shared yesterday that 6 years ago to the day, we closed on our first home! It was such an exciting time in our lives, we were finally going to own our home, and I couldn’t wait to put my signature on it. When we first moved in pretty much every room in the house was yellow. We were in our sixth year of marriage so other than our IKEA living room furniture we had purchased a few years prior, the rest of our belongings were typical newlywed hand-me-downs. With 2 kiddos under two I was excited to make this house a home. Today I’m going to share our Dining Room progression over the past 6 years. [Read more…]
Yep that’s right! That is exactly how I would describe our new curtains in our living room. Not too hot, too cold, but just right! In other words, not too dark, not too light, but just right! You see I love all white, truly I do, but sometimes it feels just a little to blan for me after awhile. And while throw pillows can certainly add their pop of color, I really just wanted something that would cause a bit more of a change. [Read more…]
I finally pulled the trigger on getting a rug for our dining room. I’ve been contemplating different options for a couple years now. Yes YEARS, you read that right. If I’ve learned anything in design, it’s not to rush the process. Don’t make haste decisions that you aren’t 100% confident in. Not only can you potentially waste money, you waste time and energy on a piece that wasn’t meant to be, and it end up stunting your decision to make the right choice because you live with “good enough” for far too long. I actually had a completely different rug picked out for this room, so let me tell you why I ended up pulling the trigger on not only a different color than my original choice, but also a much bolder pattern!
So I had been toying with updating our kitchen island for a while. I feel like I have been debating for over a year, and finally decided to pull the trigger. Because what’s the worse that can happen, I don’t like it and I can paint it back white, RIGHT?! So I finally decided to take the plunge and update our kitchen island, by painting it a bold color, and it was so easy. [Read more…]

I shared earlier in the year some goals I have for house projects this year, and one of those goals is making over our bathroom downstairs. You can see my design plan, HERE, for when we do makeover the bathroom downstairs, but until then I decided to refresh the walls, so it didn’t drive me nuts in the meantime. While there was nothing wrong with our bathroom stripes before, I’m so glad I decided to paint them anyways, because now I love it so much better. Let me remind you of the before : [Read more…]
It feels so good to refresh a space. I’m so glad I let our living room have some breathing room. I was craving a little change, which I talked about HERE, so when I simplified our living room, it allowed me to bring back only what I absolutely wanted in the space. Of course finding the right shade of bright white paint helped me not rush the process of refreshing our living room, and really added some impact to the refresh. Even though our walls were light before, a fresh coat of paint makes it feel so crisp and bright. I can’t wait to see how it will feel in the summer. [Read more…]
2015 sure brought some fun and exciting things in my life regarding this blog and the business that goes with it. It’s been almost 4 years, and even though I still struggle with saying the actual word “blog” (still sounds weird to me) I finally tell people that I have a blog, LOL! I love looking back each year, and reflecting on all that has happened. It always sparks feelings of accomplishment, and even more so gratitude. Because without you here, there really wouldn’t be much of a blog, and so for that I am SUPER grateful! Grateful for this online community, and friends that I’ve made. Grateful for a place I can unload all my design thoughts and ideas into a circle of well receiving friends. This year sure has brought a lot, here are my highlights from 2015! [Read more…]
It’s hard to believe that it’s been a few weeks since we completed the Lowe’s Fall Makeover. There was so much excitement and anticipation heading into this project. I shared with you HERE the mood board design plan we had for the space, and we all know that while these serve as great inspiration for completing a space, they don’t come out 100% like the mood board. I would say we came pretty close though. From Day 1 of working with the home owners it was so much fun to talk about their style and what they would like to see in the space. The moment they mentioned a farmhouse table, I knew we were going to hit it off right away! I loved transforming their space, with the help of Lowe’s, and taking their dreams and making it a reality. Or knocking it out of the park as they would say! [Read more…]

Hi Friends!! I have loved getting all of your feedback from my post on Monday, Creating a Space you Love. I know sometimes it can be intimidating seeing all these beautifully completed spaces styled perfectly on Pinterest. Sometimes you see something you like, but have no idea how to transform your space to resemble the ones you love that you see in pictures. I certainly don’t claim to have a magic formula, but I do have a thought process, and it’s one I use not only in my own spaces but when I’m working with clients as well. Point in case, the gallery wall in our living room around our TV. [Read more…]
I think one question I get asked most often, other than where is my white slip-covered sofa from? Is what my style is, or how I would describe my style, and went about decorating our living room.
Of course it didn’t always look this way, I had a love for interior design, and creating welcoming spaces, but truly loving the space you live in, that takes some time. [Read more…]
A few weeks back I had the honor of joining my good friend Jen over at City Farmhouse for the Lowes Spring Makeover event. You can catch up on Jen’s post explaining more about how people entered to win the makeover here. If you follow me on Instagram you got a few sneak peaks, but have been SO patiently waiting to see the full reveal. Let me just tell you, we had a blast! Jen is just as sweet in person as she appears online, but even more so. She is so kind-hearted we hit it off instantly. For me this was such a fun project because I got to go and just assist her. Usually when I’m working with my own clients I have all the little details to worry about, but it was nice going just to lend a helping hand and an extra eye in design. We said over and over again how much when you love what you do, it totally doesn’t feel like work. I feel like that was the theme for this weekend. We were there for 2 days with handful of volunteers from Lowes to help us get the job done. I was shocked when Jen sent me the before photo to show me the space we were working with. Let’s just say a bit taken back, shocked may sound drastic, but there was definitely an “Oh boy!” said once or twice. Take a look at the before: [Read more…]
