I’m giddy with excitement, even just with writing this posts title! If you have been around here for awhile, or maybe even just a little bit, than you know just how much I love creating tablescapes! For me they go so much further than just a centerpiece, because they run the entire length of the table! One of my favorite parts about the upcoming holidays is the chance to create a holiday tablescape. I’ve shared a little bit about how decorating the table goes so much deeper for me than the items I put on the table. With each element and detail included, careful thought has been weighed out, to ensure that those who will sit around the table will be blessed by it’s beauty. You may remember my week of Thanksgiving Tables last year, and the grand finale at the very end, where I had some of my closest blogging friends join me, and share their tables too! Well, this year you are in for a treat! I rallied with even more friends, for a grand week long Tablescape Tour. Each blogger will be sharing an autumn themed tablescape that I know will inspire everyone! So exciting right?! Are you ready to find out who those bloggers are that will be joining me?! [Read more…]
Happy Friday friends!! Wait? WHAT? Is it really Friday already!! You know for a girl who can’t move around that much these days, this week sure did fly by! We’ve had a pretty exciting week, our new product line launching, and of course joining some of my friends on Monday to bring you our free fall printables! I’m so excited because the fun gets to continue next week! Monday we will be kicking things off with Kelly from Eclectically Vintage sharing our Fall Home Tour 2015, and on Tuesday starts the Art of Home! I’ve shared with you all about this amazing online class that I’ve joined up with 4 other amazing bloggers to share our hearts and homes with all of you, but just in case this is your first time here I will catch you up to speed. First you can check out this post, and this one, to read more of my heart for the course and what it’s all about, but when Jeanne shared her vision with me about this online course where women can come and be inspired and reconnect with their homemaking skills, my heart strings were pulled. I immediately felt like I was meant to be apart of this, there is so much more behind just having a pretty home, but really discovering why it is we nest, and desire a comfortable, relaxing environment for our friends and families. As women we love to nurture and take care of those around us, and I believe our homes can reflect that. I love discovering traditions that were handed down to me from my mother and my grandmother. I have so many wonderful memories of being in my grandmothers kitchen while she baked, and playing with this tiny antique iron that her mother gave her. [Read more…]
It’s no secret that I love farmhouse decor. Well farmhouse anything really. It’s my favorite style because of it’s relaxed vibe and comfortable appeal. It’s no fuss, casual feel draws you in and makes you want to sit and stay awhile. I shared a little bit at Haven about my thoughts and design plan that went into how we created our dining room, which I can’t wait to share more of Haven with you all soon, but today I wanted to share a fun way you can shop our look! I’ve teamed up with Painted Fox to join their summer sale series, currently going on, and picked some of my favorite farmhouse decor items that I love to decorate with. I thought it would be fun to show you how I have some of these items incorporated into my own home. [Read more…]
Hello Friends! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! We had a great time with family, enjoying the long weekend being lazy, and eating far too much food! I just wanted to pop in today and show you a new antique tool caddy I picked up back in the beginning of the season. We have a sweet little barn shop down the road from us, that opens just about every other weekend in the summer. The cutest old couple that runs it, and they fill it to the brim from their lifetime hobby of collecting! They are my go to place when I have a certain antique piece in mind. My crates that hold our shoes in the kitchen, I found there. It’s a sweet little spot and it’s just around the corner. I spotted this tool caddy there last year, and sadly I didn’t grab it. So this past spring when they first opened up, I made sure to stop by and thankfully it was still there! [Read more…]
I know you got to see a few glimpse’s of my dining room table dressed for Easter in our Spring Home Tour last week. On monday I shared how I made the vintage inspired egg place settings. So simple, but a huge impact! I mentioned in that post, how I always look to add layers, in any area I decorate. To me it just makes a space come alive. It takes it from flat and boring, to having dimension and interest.
Last week I shared our spring home tour with all of you and you got to see a little glimpse of our Easter table. Today I’m showing you how I made the vintage easter eggs for each place setting. Being one who craves texture and layers in a space that was exactly what I went for when creating these individual place settings. I know it may seem a bit elaborate to some, they are extremely simple to put together, but sometimes it’s fun to put a little extra special something into your entertaining. It shows our guests we thought about them, we planned in anticipation of their arrival, and wanted them to feel a little extra special. [Read more…]
It still feels a little surreal to be typing the word “Spring” in a post, especially referring to spring decor in my house! There is still plenty of snow outside, but with it finally starting to melt, and there is excitement in the air as we anticipate warmer weather around the corner! I had to laugh the other day, when my daughter saw glimpse’s of grass for the first time in some of our pathways, she screamed with excitement, so even the kids are ready for the snow to be gone! Today I’m sharing one of my favorite thrifting finds with you, that you can use all year round for decor! I always feel like we are in decorating limbo in these dog days of winter. Christmas is over, but it’s not quite spring yet, so… what do we do?
