Welcome! Today I’m joining in with my friends on bHome to share our Summer Homes with all of you! If you are new here, I’m so glad you stopped by! Be sure to stick around at the end of the post, our fabulous friends over at Painted Fox have a fantastic giveaway you won’t want to miss π
I think it’s safe to say that summer has started, although we are still waiting for school to let out. Our official last day of school is this coming monday, and this momma can’t wait for a relaxed morning, without the hustle and bustle of getting ready for school. Our weather has been beautiful, so many sun filled days, we’ve had all the windows wide open, listening to the sounds of summer outside, and letting that fresh air come in!
Winters are long here for us in New England, so when things start to turn green outside, you can’t help but take a deep breath in and inhale all that summer has to offer. Off of our farmers porch you enter right into our kitchen. I’m going to keep the talking to a minimal today, so sit back, grab your cup of coffee, and come on in!
You can catch all of the details about our kitchen here, and how I DIY’d our gray chalkboard paint you see below here.
From our kitchen, you start to work your way towards the front of the house. You enter our dining room that is open to our living room. These three rooms totally get their wear and tear. This is our main living area, and boy do these rooms get used to their full potential. Most days the island and dining room table are covered with papers, projects, work, mail, schoolwork, and whatever else tends to make it through the doors in our hands. So the fact that they are cleared off is a victory in itself.
I feel like our house is in it’s true state when it’s decorated for summer. It’s light and breezy, and relaxed which is everything that summer should be.
I recently shared all the details on our front gallery wall, and more recently just re-worked the gallery wall around our tv, which I will be sharing more on soon.
At the bottom of our stairs behind that little wall, is a tiny hallway with a coat closet, but that doesn’t mean we skimped on the decor. Our house has a lot of nooks, which I think comes with the territory in old houses, so I look at each area as an opportunity to make the most of it. Here we added a DIY board & batten treatment with sconces to add light to a space that has very little.
My go-to’s for summer decor lean more on the nautical side. We are about 30 mins. from the ocean, and go about once a week, so that greatly influences my summer decor.
I add rope, driftwood, starfish, and rocks we collect from our trips to the ocean, and sprinkle them all around.
On the back wall in our dining room, I re-finished this dresser turned buffet to resemble more of a driftwood look. You can catch that project here, and the rest of our dining room sources including paint colors like you see in these stripes here.
My favorite farmhouse tray from Painted Fox is filled with seasonal items, along with some of my go-to’s for entertaining.
I recently got these adorable cupcake stands, also a Painted Fox treasure, and can’t wait to use them at our next party, or a sweet brunch with friends. They would even make great place card holders for your next dinner party.
So now that you’ve seen some of my favorite Painted Fox goodies, you have a chance to win some of your own!Β In thanks for being part of the bHome family already…or to welcome you today, we are giving away a $200 gift certificate to Painted Fox Treasures.
