I have been so enjoying seeing everyones lovely home for fall lately! I shared some more of our home decorated for fall earlier this week with friends from the bHome app. And today I’m back with more friends from the Farmhouse Holiday Decor Series for our final fall post. Today we are sharing how we decorated our porches for Fall, sponsored by the fabulous people at Joss & Main.
Our leaves are just starting to turn here in New England, and I couldn’t be more excited. It feels like a great anticipation every time we go outside, because we just know what’s coming. In a few weeks all the leaves will turn to deep red and bright yellow and every shade in between.
It’s the perfect time of the year for porch sitting. I will say that we pretty much enjoy our porch all summer long, since our humidity isn’t constant in the summer, but fall is perfect. It’s cool enough the bugs stay away, but still warm enough to enjoy. This year I decided to try something different, NO MUMS!
Call me crazy I know, trust me I was thinking the same thing. I love mums just as much as the next person, but I wanted to change things up a bit, and see what I could do without using them. I have to say I’m a bit smitten with the outcome.
I have been LOVING ornamental pumpkins this year. Well I wouldn’t just say it’s been this year, but this is the first year I’ve actually been able to find a good amount of them. I started by collecting those in stages. I wasn’t exactly sure how many I would need, so every time I had to run errands I would grab a few until I had enough for it to feel just right.
I swapped out our gray wicker chairs from summer, with black rocking chairs from Joss & Main. . They’ve encouraged us to linger on our porch just a little bit longer, which is never a bad thing!
I hung my set of tobacco baskets from our curated collection at Painted Fox (with command strips for those wondering!) in between the 2 rocking chairs for added texture and dimension to the space.
New to our porch are these gorgeous aged urns. The reminded me of the ones I’ve seen at Restoration Hardware but for a fraction of the price. I filled mine with cabbage, a fern, and even made a cute pumpkin topiary using the smallest of the set.
I love heavier textiles for fall. They add a sense of warmth without having to try to hard, and it helps make the subtle change of the seasons feel natural. These striped pillow covers from Joss & Main did just that. They are 100% wool, so while you wouldn’t want to rest your head on them on your couch, they are perfect for entryways and porch spaces, because of their heavy texture.
I layered in around the rocking chairs, more pumpkins, buttercup squash, large cabbage’s and of course a place to rest a hot cup of my favorite seasonal beverage. Pumpkin Spice, and I intend on soaking in every moment this season, and taking the time to stop and rest and reflect on all the blessings in my life.
Are you ready to decorate your porch yet?! Or maybe you’d love to spruce things up a bit? Well I have some exciting news! Joss & Main is giving away a $500 shopping spree to one lucky winner!! They are running the contest on Instagram, and all you have to do is share your fall porch to enter using the hashtag #designtheoutdoors. So easy right ?!
Now for some more fall porch inspiration! I hope you enjoy the rest of the tour, and we will back in November with more holiday decorating tours!!

hey girl love the porch! My husband and I moved into our home 2 years ago in May and the previous owners had closed in the front porch to make the living room bigger. We wished they had kept it. but we do like the living room! So…. I have decorated for Fall mostly inside! But I have put my wreath on the front door and I have a small fall banner(flag) by the front door to! I bought a couple of big pumpkins a few days ago. I put one on the step ( in front of the front door) and the other one by the back door that we always use. I haven’t got any mums yet, maybe tomorrow! Ya’ll have a great weekend! I can’t wait till we start seeing the Fall leaves turning here in Oklahoma! yay

I LOVE your fall porch–my favorite out of all these today in the series 🙂 I too have a tobacco basket and I love the way it looks on the porch with your rocking chairs.
