I am so excited to be teaming up with 4 other amazing bloggers this week and Kirklands to give you the first looks of Christmas in our home. Whether it’s your first time visiting our blog, a recent acquaintance, or a long time friends, Welcome and Happy Holidays! My number one goal is to make our home feel warm and inviting to all who stop by, whether it’s in real life, or for a virtual visit on the blog. I joke that if I could put myself in a decorating style category it would be “relaxed”, because that is truly how I want our home to feel. I love layering in details and texture that all stem from my love for all things farmhouse, especially for the holiday season!
I like to greet friends and family members right away as the enter our home with holiday touches.
I think it sets the tone for how the rest of our home is decorated for the holidays. With our relaxed style, I love letting nature take center stage. So incorporating rustic pieces and either real or faux elements of nature is my go-to.
These flocked rattan cone trees from Kirklands Christmasland collection add the perfect touch to our christmas decor, and the best part is they light up, so at night they cast that beautiful heavenly glow, just like our main christmas tree does.
A christmas greeting on a neutral throw pillow is a great way to add a subtle seasonal touch. I love THIS soft pillow from Kirklands with gold lettering, and compliments my gold stag figurine perfectly.
I placed my other gold deer on the crate next to our front door. He adds the perfect touch of sparkle next to our table top tree.
I embellished this sweet winter hanging wall art from Vol. 25 with a mini pinecone garland, that had a touch of shimmer.
Simple touches of greenery and christmas decor added just enough holiday spirit to our entryway, without cluttering the space from still being functional.
I have so many fond memories of Christmas as a child, including how our home was decorated. It’s so hard to pick out one tradition that goes above the rest, but what it’s done for me as an adult, is wanting to create Christmas traditions and memories for my own kids. When I decorate our home for Christmas I like to think it helps spur on their sense of awe and wonder for everything that Christmas brings.
Moving into our dining room, I added similar seasonal touches to our table for Christmas, but I think they can last throughout the entire winter season.
I created this simple tablescape using faux greens, different sized candlesticks, mercury glass orbs, and shimmery woodland figures.
I love that the orbs light up. At night we like to turn off as many lights as we can throughout the house, and just let the white lights we have out for christmas shine bright, and create a soft, cozy environment.
On our buffet in our dining room, I created a dessert/coffee station. This keeps holiday entertaining simple, when you have designated areas set up for food and drinks, it helps cut the congestion that can easily happen in the kitchen.
Of course, I had to add a few decor touches. I feel like it helps make the food look better, plus when the food is all gone, you don’t have a bare surface that looks out of place, right?!
These elegant white finial pine cone trees from Kirklands where perfect for this area. They are nice and slender and don’t take up a lot of space, while also complimenting the elegant silver platter gallery wall I have in the dining room.
I like to use similar decor pieces throughout my entire home, not just one room at a time, because it makes our home feel bigger when all the decor has a nice cohesive feel, and this is especially true at Christmas.
I hope you enjoyed taking a peak around our home, and the christmas cheer that we are starting to spread from the Kirklands Christmasland collection! Be sure to follow the tour throughout the rest of this week by joining these bloggers sharing throughout this week :

Love your decor, especially the orbs! Mixing mercury glass with rustic wood is what I love to do as well. It’s special to see how it looks in another home and lets me know I’m on the right track. Are the orbs from Kirklands? You probably said where they are from but I was in such a hurry to see all the beautiful photos, I didn’t stop to look at sources.

HA HA No problem Crystal 🙂 Yes the Orbs are from Kirklands, and they light up too!!

Love your style of decorating – all so beautiful and peaceful. You have definitely inspired my Christmas decor – out with the glitzy colors and in with soft greens and a more serene feeling. I do think my usual over the top Christmas decor – which filled every available surface – only added to the holiday stress. I am relaxed just looking at your photos and am going to attempt this for my own home. Thank you for sharing, you have helped me greatly in my quest for a welcoming, warm and inviting holiday home.
