Hello Friends! I’m so excited to be sharing more fall looks around our home today, this time in our living room! I have some very special blogging friends joining me today. part of the Seasons of Home tour series, hosted by Kristen from Ella Claire. I have to tell you I was a little stumped this year when it came to adding fall touches to our living room. I couldn’t settle on a color to bring in or take out. My typical go-to grays just weren’t cutting it for me this time around. I went back to the colors I used in my fall kitchen, and how much I loved those. Whenever I get off track, or can’t decide on something, I look around my house to see what other colors I used. Sticking with the same color scheme helps me decorate so the whole house feels cohesive! I’m sharing more of our entire fall home tour tomorrow, so you will see how I pulled this together, but today let me show you what I did in our living room.
Since I wasn’t feeling the gray throw pillows for fall this year I decided to add some cream ones, and add a few new ones for a fun pop of color.
The cream pillow with gray trim, I recently picked up at HomeGoods, while the larger green pillow behind it I actually made the cover with dish towels from Target. They do have a pillow in the Magnolia collection that is made out of similar fabric, but I didn’t need a whole new pillow, just a new cover and one that was slightly bigger too.
Then below, the matching stripe pillows on both sides of the couch are from H&M earlier this year (it appears they are sold out). The deep green velvet one is also from Target, I’ll say that one is the culprit. I saw it, and couldn’t let it go. And the smaller oatmeal lumbar pillow is actually from our wingback chairs.
Other than switching out throw pillows, what really got me in the fall spirits was adding some clippings I got outside, and putting them in a vase. Their subtle green turning to deep red hue add the perfect touch of fall foliage.
I added a larger vase with the some more backyard clippings to a table in our entryway as well. I played a little musical chairs with some of the tables in our living room. I love how just simply moving a few pieces feels like a whole new room!
I’ll be sharing more of these spaces and our dining room tomorrow! Be sure to stop by and see more beautiful fall decor below!

HI Bre, I am obsessed with your balusters and that cute little niche by the stairs. Are your balusters stained or painted? I have a maple finish that is yellowing. Argh! xo laura in CO

Hi Laura!! Thanks so much!! The balusters are painted white, and the stair treads and railings are stained a really dark espresso 🙂
