Hey guys, I’m joining the party over at The Lettered Cottage today for Holiday Tablescapes,
and wanted to share with you what I came up with:
I’m so glad I finished painting my dining room table (post on that project later)
in time to dress it up for the holidays. I inherited my china set from my Auntie Karen,
about a year before we got married
{husband had no CLUE why I was doing this}
but I knew the value, and was not going to pass this opportunity up
It’s a b-e-a-utiful set with a platinum band around the edge of
everything.
From the dinner plates, down to the coffee set, and
after dinner glasses.
So, basically this is my go to every christmas.
I love the excuse to use dressy things,
and plates are no different.
I started off with my centerpiece first.
Grabbing an un-used twig wreath, and throwing some clippings from
our tree in them. I then grabbed a large
square vase and filled it with
silver ornaments, and pine cones, and placed it in the middle.
I then added some silver and ivory
twig-like berry clusters, and tucked them in
throughout the wreath.
Next up, the place settings.
I grabbed this little diagram to help you out with the formality.
Because lets face it, we just don’t do
things the way they used to
So while I didn’t put everything on the table the did, I came pretty close.
I grabbed my chargers first.
Silver to match the platinum band on the plates.
Then I just stacked away, until it looked how I wanted it too.
I added the silverware, a water goblet, and a wine glass.
Also added a shallow bowl, and a small side plate for bread or appetizer.
Then gave each plate a different ornament.
Now time to add the fun stuff.
Keeping with the silver, I grabbed my silver reindeer, my candle sticks,
some silver votives, and some smaller silver ornaments
for the table.
With the candles lit I was pretty much done.
Unfortunately we didn’t have the best lighting today for photos,
but it gave the room such a pretty
angelic glow.
I love dressing the table up for the holidays. It was so pretty I wanted to leave everything
out all the time. At least just for December.
But in fear the kids would run into the table, I put the majority of it away.
Ohhhh, some day
Well hope you feel inspired to set the table, for whatever guests you
have coming, or for your most important guests,
Your FaMiLy.
~Happy Holidays~
