So I think the one common theme question I get asked the most is:
“Where does she find the time?”
In a round about way, this question comes in various forms of,
“I don’t how you do it?”, “How do you do this with little kids?”,
or my favorite….
“I didn’t know you had so much free time on your hands!”
HA, that is something I always wish I have more of,
and usually in the form of
quiet, peaceful, and alone.
Sorry babe, I do love spending wonderful time with my husband,
and I love being able to stay home with my kids,
BUT
I do love to be left alone with my thoughts ๐
I think everybody deserves a little quiet time to keep their insanity.
But back to the question,
you asked, and so I’ll answer.
It’s kind of hard to answer without giving you a run-down on a day in the
Langford house, so I will try my best to not
Also, let me put this disclaimer out there:
“I like structure, I’m BIG on routine, and always have to open to flexibility.”
Because let’s face it, not everyday can be the perfect same day routine.
But let’s try really hard to keep it that way.
7:00 a.m. – Rise and Shine
7:15 – bottle and sippy cup of milk for the little ones
and a mug of hot water with freshly squeezed lemon for mama.
7:30 – couch time with the kiddos, this concludes of cuddling,
some morning cartoons, and some more cuddling.
7:50 – babygirl is off and running (she doesn’t sit still too long,
contrary to what everyone said about girls)
back into the kitchen we head, babygirl is in her highchair eating a banana and some cheerios,
or blueberry EGGO,
or blueberry EGGO,
brother is starting to emerge from the couch.
While she is eating, I try to make the most of my time while in the kitchen,
this inclueds loading or un-loading the dishwasher (if run the night before),
Doing any left over dishes in the sink,
wiping down the countertops = kitchen clean for the day ๐
8:10 – babygirl is done with breakfast, head back into the living room to play,
I put my first load of laundry in.
8:15 – the kids are content playing for a bit and are quite occupied,
so I take the time to sit in there and quickly do my morning scan on the laptop.

8:40 – close computer, switch laundry, get on the floor and play with the kids.
9:00 – babygirl goes down for a nap (hooray for naptime)
I take the time while I’m upstairs to make my bed, and take care of
any clothes left out from the previous day.
I take the time while I’m upstairs to make my bed, and take care of
any clothes left out from the previous day.
9:15 – breakfast for mommy and little guy.
eggwhites + veggies w/ water for me,
banana + english muffin or oatmeal(his favorite) for him.
while these things are cooking, I take the time to put away any dishes that
I washed earlier that morning, tidy anything else left in the kitchen up.
Little guy and I enjoy some breakfast, while I make a list for the day.
usually of what’s for dinner, checking any groceries that might be needed,
and writing anything else down I don’t want to forget.
Clean up from breakfast, brush teeth, get dressed for the day.
9:25 – movie time.
I know it might seem crazy but to keep the house quiet in the morning while
sissy naps, carter gets a movie of his choice.
During this time there is a variation of things going on.
He either quietly plays by himself, or we quietly play,
If it’s the former, than I take the time to either compose for the blog, or post to the blog,
start a project for the day.
11:00 – babygirl is up, so this means if there is anything I need to get done today,
NOW IS THE TIME TO DO IT.
We either run errands, go grocery shopping, or we stay home and play ๐
12:00 – lunch time-
babygirl sits in highchair, while I get lunch ready for everyone.
(this girl is into everything)
12:30 – more play time- usually coloring, or train set,
something a little more constructive that just imaginary time ๐
1:15 – clean up for nap time (which will also consist of my vacuuming if needed.
(so if you are keeping up with me, I know have a clean kitchen with dishes done, laundry done, bedroom picked up, and now a clean living room).
My dad always said when I was little to clean as you go, when it came to cooking,
but I use this method throughout my whole day.
Everytime I am up and moving around, I either put stuff away, or clean something
(dust, windex, dirty clothes)
(dust, windex, dirty clothes)
1:30 – NAPTIME!
hallelujah, this is when they both go down for a nap, which = mommy’s time.
Once they are down, I will pick up anything else left out,
than have my daily meeting with Jillian Micheal’s = sweat it out.
I’ll jump in the shower real quick,
then I get to sit in PEACE and QUIET for the next hour and a half.
If I’m working on a project I will try to wrap it up during this time,
Or the bills, or anything that needs to get done for
church stuff that I’m involved with.
If nothing is pressing, it’s a little quiet time for me, and maybe some pinterest.
I limit my computer time to brief in the am, and during naps.
I don’t ever want my kids to have a view of me
that’s a zombie in front of the computer
(which is so easy to do sometimes)
3:30 – Carter starts to make his way downstairs, and quietly plays with his toys
until sissy gets up.
By 4pm they are both up, so I bring them into the kitchen for an
5:30 – we are eating dinner, daddy gets home soon,
and the rest of the night consists of baths, playtime with daddy,
so I get a break, and then bedtime concludes everything right around 7:15.
SO that’s it. My day in a nutshell.
Some days consist of more, and some a little less.
