So, I mentioned last weekend that we were headed to IKEA,
to finally purchase some items that had been
on a list for w-a-y to long.
I showed you here
what I was looking to get to add to the dining room,
to add some variety, texture,
and make things warmer.
Since getting these lovely ladies last weekend
(including in the store)
I think I have mentioned over a dozen times,
how much I L O V E these chairs.
Every time I glance in our dining room now and see them,
they make me smile ๐
ohhh,
I think my husband (and everyone else I’ve told)
probably thinks I’m crazy by now.. but I really do love these chairs.
They fit perfect, were exactly what I was hoping for,
and are so comfortable.
I didn’t purchase the chair pads they came with,
because they were kinda boring, and flat.
So I am keeping my eye out for something with a little more “poof”.
I also intend on covering the throw pillows
with maybe something along the lines of a “french grain sack” type look.
I also added some other things to the dining room,
to bring in more white elements as mentioned before.
I picked up some white pitchers from Ikea (and Target recently),
also for the time being added the rattan
place mat (from ikea) to the mantle to add more texture ๐
Also, on the other side of the mantle you remember my fantastic chalkboard sign?
Here is what things looked like
before:
and now with things whitened up a bit
after:
I ended up spray painting it white, and like how it pops more against the grey walls,
rather that the two-toned antique look I had done before.
I also added some white plates on both sides of the mirror:
Something was kinda off though.
You might not be able to tell what it was, but in person
it was sticking out like a sore thumb.
Ivory candles on the wall sconces.
So I grabbed some cheapies at Walmart, and…
all better now ๐
I love how the room looks now to the plates hanging on the wall
(great inspiration from a friend of mine,
Mrs. Wendy Reidy, she has impeccable taste).
I have a few more spots in the room where I intend on adding some more white plates to the wall.
Such an easy fix, and totally transforms the space.
I’m really excited at how the whole room is coming together.
Finally feels more like my style.
The table took a total transformation once I painted it black,
and now paired with two new end chairs,
it looks like a completely different set.
~Stay tuned for more transformations from our ikea trip ๐
~Hope you had a great weekend ๐
