Well, it’s been pretty cloudy here this past week,
which doesn’t help when you are trying to take indoor photos.
I was really hoping to get some taken of the living room rug and lamps I got to show you that progress,
and then this past weekend the chair rail went up in the dining room,
and it totally dresses the room up,
but also makes for some painting dilemmas.
Which leads me to my next question:
“To paint, or not to paint?”
I need your HELP!!!!
In the form of feedback, PLEASE ๐
So off of our dining room is an extra bedroom
(that started as a playroom, turned into a guest space, now being turned back into the playroom)
Anyways, it doesn’t really matter what’s on the other side of the door,
it’s a pretty cool door, and the other day when walking through the dining room,
I happened to glance over and get an idea.
(this is usually about the time my husband starts to hold his breath waiting to here what concoction I have come up with to do next ๐ )
Anyways let me just show you what I’m talking about.
Insert exhibit A : the door
I love it in it’s white glory, especially with the dining room being grey.
All the bold white trim really makes the room feel like something from the cape,
or Martha’s Vineyard,
you know, that coastal town type living.
But the idea I had was to take the top panel of the door and paint the insert part with chalkboard paint!
Which I’m in love with.
I tell you, once you use it once, you are looking for another way to use it.
And once painted, I would use it as a “MENU” board.
So it would be similar to something like these:
See what I mean.
Then, I came across this photo again,
and the first time I saw it I fell in l.o.v.e.
but because off all the white tableware and pitchers,
then looking at it again, realized that pantry door is almost exactly what we have in the dining room,
thus the idea was planted!
Oh what to do?
Keep things simplistic and timeless with the all white?
Which I do love.
Or
Do I be a little bold, and paint it.
Now let me close with this,
I am a big fan of “it’s just paint, if you don’t like paint it back”.
I’m realizing that’s easier said than done ๐
But then seeing all these photos again, makes me think
“I’m gonna do it”.
See the dilemma.
HELP?!
~What would you do?
~Paint it or not?
.let me know what you think.
