then you have already seen
my chalkboard door in my dining room for Fall.
my chalkboard door in my dining room for Fall.
So today I’m going to give you a
closer look at how I came up with it.
First I compiled the words I
wanted to use, and envisioned the layout in my head.
{sorry no photo for that process 🙂 }
Then I opened up a blank word document,
to play around with the fonts
I wanted to use.
I didn’t really have anything in particular in mind,
except for the first word,
HarvesT,
I wanted on the top, in a semi-circle
(like a rising sun).
So I grabbed this document off of Pinterest,
that gives you tips for using
different types of fonts.

I pretty much free handed it from here.
Nothing elaborate.
I typed the words out in the different fonts I chose
from my word document,
so that I could copy them to the best of my ability.
But I pretty much just wanted a
general idea,
something quick and simple.
So some of my letters aren’t exact to the word document,
but again I didn’t trace, or stencil,
I just free handed what I saw.
And here’s what I got:
I chose to stick with three main fonts,
and pretty much filled in the spots as I saw fit.
I didn’t have a template to use,
just pure inspiration.
I’m already thinking up of what I might want to do for Christmas,
because I didn’t have this painted last year,
but until then,
I’m reminded of Fall’s simple pleasures every time I walk by.
Hope you have a great Day!

What a wonderful mix of fonts. The words all seem to have motion and flow form one to the next. Well done!
