Grey Painted Interior Doors

Are you familiar with grey painted interior doors? Have you seen them before? I know, or at least I think I know we are all familiar with black painted interior doors.
Which can I just say, these come out stunning! I have advised a few clients to jump on this boat, and every time, they are shocked with how stunning the out come is, and how much they like it.
I will say that to achieve a cohesive look, the right wall color plays a big factor in this look. I wouldn’t recommend painting your doors black, if your walls are navy blue 🙂
But back to grey. I like this look, because it’s an unexpected sophistication. Grey is such a calming color, all while remaining neutral as well. It gives a sense of history, while being just as cozy as a cottage.
Pairing greys together can be tricky, so if you like this look, when picking out the right shade, make sure the undertones on the wall paint color match the undertones of the paint color you are choosing for your door. You don’t want warm tan undertones paired with cool blue undertones, it will just feel off, and you will think it’s just not for you.

However, when your colors are part of the same family, they flow together beautifully, and you get a warm cohesive look that is pleasing to the eye. A good way to go about this is picking paint colors from the same swatch. Choosing a lighter color for your walls, and going 2-3 shades darker for your doors.

So what do you think? Are you a fan of grey painted doors? For those hesitant or not wanting the look of black painted doors, I think this creates just as much interest, without a big commitment. If you aren’t painting your walls, it only takes a few hours to paint a door, and if you absolutely don’t like it, just make sure you have some white paint on hand to switch it back. I’ve had to do that before too!

Making choice on what color and style you should have is going to be a tough decision. All you need to do is time and a look around for different colors, kinds and styles of doors available on the market these days. I like the design of black painted interior doors.

I love the look of painted doors and have to say that I would go grey before black. Too dark colours just depress me even though I love black. I just know my mood would swing downwards if I was looking at it all the time. But that first grey door just has me swooning!

I do love the look of painted doors. I painted our front door a different color and I thought my husband was going to have a fit. He said he had gotten used to all the white and now I throw color at him. And I painted the garage door a different color. Hey it is just paint right. Alaina

Love the look of painted doors…I’m thinking of painting the door in our laundry room black, now that the walls are a light color.

I love darker doors and ours are all a very dark brown that I painted a few years ago.
