Today is Day 1 of my week long of Thanksgiving Tablescapes! For those of you who are just catching up, I will be here everyday this week sharing a different themed Thanksgiving table, with a grand finale on Friday where 13 of some of my best blogging friends will be joining me and sharing their Thanksgiving table as well! So lets get started!
Todays table is is more on the simple side, but I feel comes across very elegant. I will show you step by step how I created this table using a faux white pumpkin and luscious eucalyptus branches. First you will see my empty table. A clean slate.
I started by layering a solid white table runner down the center, and placing two chippy urns evenly spaced on top.
I filled each urn with some faux mossy grass, and then a gourd in each, purchased from my grocery stores produce department.
In the middle of the two urns, I centered a glass cake stand with a faux white pumpkin on it. I like playing with different heights on the table to add interest. I’m also a strong believer in mixing faux and real elements to keep people guessing which is which. When done just right, people can’t tell the difference, and it makes your dollar go further too!
Next I covered the base of the cake stand with eucalyptus branches. You can sometimes find these in your grocers floral department, otherwise if not at your local florist. They aren’t too expensive, and go a long way, because they also dry beautifully.
I like the fullness the eucalyptus branches brought in, and how plush it made the table. Keeping things simple, I finished it off with 3 tiered glass candlesticks, again playing with different heights adds interest, and keeps your eyes moving.
You can see I stayed within my green, white, and glass color scheme for this tablescape for a clean crisp look, that brings a simple elegance to the table.
Once my candlesticks where in place, it was time to add my place settings.
Throughout the week I will show you some elaborate place settings, and some more simple. I think sometimes we can get caught up in we have to have every.single.piece of serve ware they offer in the stores for it to be complete, and that is just not the case. Today it’s simple. No chargers, no coordinating table linens, just some pretty plates and some sparkling silverware, both passed down in the family, and I am happy to display them.
To finish things off, I kept the buffet display simple. Again working with green, white and glass. I brought out my white turkey and some additional eucalyptus branches to carry theme throughout the space.
What are your staples for your thanksgiving table?
Do you have a tradition you do every year?
I will be back tomorrow showing you how I created a tablescape using birch tree branches and white candles! See you tomorrow!!

I love how you showed us the layers! And I could see how different urns (maybe silver) and a different cake plate (ironstone) could layer together, too, if we don’t have the combo you do. I think I’m going to check at our Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods for eucalyptus… it’s shade of grey-green is very beautiful! Can’t wait to see tomorrow’s table, too!

Wonderful tutorial. So elegant and simple and just beautiful. I love the eucalyptus branches…the ones I have are dried and colored treated with a strong smell and look nothing like yours. I guess this is what they look like when they are fresh. When they dry, to you treat them in anyway?
