7 Brick Houses Done Right

01/14/2015 By Bre

Brick Houses wouldn’t be my top choice for an exterior, however I wouldn’t shy away from them either. There is a timeless elegance that shines from these stone homes, and today I’ve gathered a few of my favorites to share with you!

If I did have to choose brick, my top choice would be a white washed look or lime wash, as some put it. It softens the look dramatically while still allowing the brick to peak through here and there.

My second choice would be to completely paint the brick. My husband and I disagree greatly on this, so let’s just hope we are never faced with this choice, LOL. I love both color options here in gray and white.

Lastly, sometimes in it’s original state, it is just stunning. This timeless classic look is found in many historical homes built 200 years ago, and still remains beautiful today!

What are your thoughts on brick? Are you a fan? Or would you opt to paint it if you had the chance?

I’ve always wanted a brick house. I love it painted, white washed or unpainted. I think it’s truly timeless. My favorite of all the ones shown here is the first one under your “painted” section. Truly gorgeous and totally my taste.

i love brick… it has to be a certain kind of house to keep it naturally reddish… my ex hated painted brick and i don’t… so i understand your argument… the house down the street from us was painted a beatiful light mossy green and looked perfect… he completely disagreed with me… well, he’s wrong… lol… i love white houses because you can plant any color you wish and it will look perfect… i have reclaimed orangeished brick on my condo and it’s so hard to match flowers with… peach flowers are all right but doesn’t really blend in well… red isn’t right either…so i put white flowers all around with some purple… it’s frustrating… i love “making a statement” and it doesn’t happen here… i’m an artist, so i need correct color and balance… thumbs up on white-washing brick… hugs2u

Love brick, just not the bright red. I like it old and faded looking or white washed!
