Today I’m popping in to share something that is so near and dear to my heart! If you caught my post yesterday re-capping my first Haven experience, than you know I am all about making connections! I think in order to thrive in our situations and giftings it is vital to surround ourselves with like minded people that will encourage and inspire us forward. You might be thinking to yourself there really isn’t anything special that I bring forward or add to the mix. But you’re wrong! We each have our own unique flavor and voice to add. Our own special creative talents to share with those around us. You may be gifted in the heart of hospitality and no detail goes unnoticed in your special way of making others feel welcome and invited. Maybe you have the gift of administration and come alive in organizing and planning, and making sure everything is in order. Maybe your gift is a little hard to see at the moment, and that’s ok too. I think when we surround ourselves with things that inspire us, our talents and gifts start to unfold right before our eyes. Sometimes though in this crazy chaotic world we live in where everyone demands everything be done “yesterday”, where overnight delivery is the norm, and we fall short of peoples expectations, you get lost in all the noise.
I think as much as we love technology we long for a simpler time. When stores weren’t open on Sundays and closed at 5 pm every night. When letters where sent in the mail, and it took a week or so to get a response. When people had home phones because they actually stayed home and would answer when you called. And it was ok if you missed a call, because the demand of “NOW” and “Right Away” weren’t shoved down your throat. I am so excited to tell you about a new course called “The Art of Home”. I believe as women and as moms we desire to equip our children and bless our families in the art of homemaking. Not a hurry do this, go there, attitude. Just barely surviving. But instilling in our children a greater calling in this life. Not to be over shadowed by media, and technology. An art worth saving and sharing for generations to come. An art I remember as a child, being taught by my mom the importance of taking care of a home in all the unseen duties. Spending summers at my grandparents being taught how things were done “back in the day” or “when I was your age”. When all hands on deck were required for family dinners every night. This class is about all of that and so much more. The class will be broken up into 4 weeks, with a specific topic around Home each week.
Week 1 : The Art of Home | Farm to Table – This week is all about gardening, cooking and preserving food.
Week Two : The Art of Home | Gathering – This week is all about opening your home and creating a space where people feel loved and special.
Week Three : The Art of Home | Domestic Moxie – This week is all about creative and fun ways to keep your home.Week Four : The Art of Home | Reclaimed Style – This week is all about using what you have and finding new uses for found objects.
I’m so thrilled to be joining some insanely talented women, so that together we can offer own gifts and experiences in homemaking in hopes to inspire, and encourage you. In this class, I will be teaching with Lissa Whitlock, Kennesha Buycks, Jennifer Rizzo, and Jeanne Oliver.
This four week course is your favorite home and cooking magazines come to life! Maybe it will even bring back sweet memories and we will all learn from each other.

Hi Patti! Great question. Once you register for the class, you have private access to the website (online classroom), and from there you can watch the videos as many times or whenever you want, at your own pace. 🙂
