I will admit it. I’m a bit old school when it comes to organization, and planning things. I love writing things down, and being able to fill in my calendar not on a electronic device. I’ve always used a planner in the past. It helps me feel a bit less stressed knowing everything is written out and scheduled. When I started my business a few years ago, I had a need for another planner. A personal one, that I would keep track of our schedules and bills, and a business one to keep track of client appointments and current projects we were working on. However keeping up with two planners wasn’t always easy or done for that matter, because who has time to keep up with one, never mind two! That being said there is nothing old school about this planner I’m about to talk to you about, and I have a fun little sneak peak of my new office space that I’ve been working on 🙂
When I first came across Whitney English’s Day Designer, I was in awe! Like pure, mouth wide open, drool on the floor, awe! I guess maybe that’s how people felt when blackberries came out, however those techy calendars did nothing for me 🙂 She covered everything in her well equipped planner. It had an area for everything I was needing. This one planner covered both my personal and business needs, and I can even put blog stuff in there too – sign me up!
One thing I always looked for in planners was a large calendar. I told you how I liked to write things out, and seeing a month at a glance is super helpful when scheduling clients. One of my favorite features about the Day Designer is that it’s weeks start on a Monday vs. the traditional Sunday start day. It fits so much better into our lifestyle. I don’t know about you, but our weeks always start on a Monday, “I’ll get to it Monday’, or “I’ll start on Monday” is something we often say, so having a planner fit our needs makes life that much easier.
In the day-to-day section you have plenty of room to keep track of all of your tasks. I love how it combines a space to plan meals, pay bills, and most importantly a Daily Gratitude! It’s so important in our busy schedules to take time and reflect on what we are thankful for! Day Designer feels like an extension of me. My likes, my style, a planner that fits my needs, but more importantly feels unique to my personal needs.
Ok, now onto that sneak peak of an Office Space I was telling you about. If you follow me on Instagram, you may remember back around christmas time, one lazy saturday morning sharing a snapshot of me painting a lovely new dark shade of navy?

This room hasn’t seen the blog, since back when I first started blogging, about 4 years ago. We have a tiny room off of our dining room {where the chalkboard door leads too} and for awhile it’s served as a play room. However this past christmas I condensed the kids toys, got rid of the baby toys they had grown out of, and moved the rest of their toys up to their rooms.
I still have the small desk in our bedroom and use that space for personal stuff and bills. This newer, slightly larger space is a place for me to store client work, blog stuff, and projects I’m working on. I’m not quite done setting it up, as it hasn’t really been on the top of the priority list. And to be quite honest this is the room I throw everything in when cleaning for company. Everybody has one, this happens to be mine.
I can’t wait to show you the rest of the space, and all the details. I even have a few little DIY projects I’ve done in here too, including the desk, that I will be sharing with full tutorials. But for now, the sneak peak is all you get.
