I am so excited about today!! I’m teaming up with a fantastic group of bloggers to share some easy 10 Minute Decorating ideas for fall. Sounds fun right?! It is!! We have all come up with a different fall themed decor idea that you can complete in 10 minutes or less! Today I have 3 different fall themed vase fillers you can complete for whatever type of mood you are in. Sometimes it’s just the little simple tweaks and changes we do that makes our house feel like it’s changing with the season, instead of going full blown FALL everywhere. Don’t get me wrong, I like to decorate for fall, but I also like my decor to feel a little more subtle and gradual.
Let’s get started!
Easy Vase Filler #1 – Chestnut filler
For all 3 of these fall vase fillers, I’m using the same vase and the same white pillar candles throughout. I purchased this vase from HomeGoods a few years back, and it is my go-to from flowers to christmas ornaments.
I started with chestnuts I purchased from my grocery store in the produce department around Thanksgiving a few years back. If you can’t find chestnuts, walnuts are another great option for this look. You can usually find them when they bring the specialty nuts out around the holidays, for entertaining.
I filled the vase half way with chestnuts, and then added the white pillar candles, pressing them down slightly into the chestnuts to secure them.
Once the last candle was in place, I’m ready to incorporate my vase into my decor. I typically use this vase on one of the end tables in our living room, or as you see it here on the console table at the bottom of our stairs.
Easy Vase Filler #2 – Pinecones
This is my biggest go-to for filling my vases during fall and the winter months! It’s totally Pottery Barn inspired, and so simple and easy. But I love it because it would work in anybody’s decor scheme.
I start by filling my vase halfway with mini pinecones. You can usually find these at any decor store in the fall and winter months.
The pinecones take up a little more room than the chestnuts or beans, so with this filler I only use two pillar candles, or you could use one large pillar candle.
Once my candles are in place I finish things off by adding a few more pinecones. This helps score the candles in place so they don’t tip over 🙂
Simple. Easy. But adds lots of rustic texture, which is perfect for Fall!
Easy Vase Filler #3- Leaf & Bean
For this fall vase filler, I grabbed a few extra bags of pinto beans from my local grocery store. Their natural coloring just screams fall to me, without being too predictable. Then I headed outside and picked a few leaves that have already fallen off the trees. Just a few different shades for an extra fall touch!
I began by wrapping similar leaves around my pillar candles with some simple bakers twine. That way they can easily be removed when I’m done with fall.
One of my favorite parts about this easy fall decor, is the kids can help too! My kids are always dying to help out and take part in doing things around the house. They see mama busy and they want to join in on the fun! This project is perfect for tiny hands!
Once the vase was filled to my liking, I placed my leaf wrapped candles inside. The perfect fall touch for any area in your house!
