I don’t know about you, but during the last week of the year, I can’t help but think and plan on things I want to do and accomplish in the new year. Reflecting on the past year, surfaces thoughts on all the accomplishments and things the year brought. I think sometimes I can fall into the trap of feeling discouraged or disappointed on the things I wanted to accomplish but didn’t. That’s when I need to take the reigns of my thoughts and focus on all the good the year brought. I’ve talked about comparison before, and for me that’s one way the door can crack open on falling into the trap of comparison. So I do my best to recognize it right away, for what it is, and surround myself with thoughts and scripture that continue to motivate and encourage me forward. “My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” ~2 Corinthians 12:9. His mercies are new every morning, and I can’t help but feel that more as each new year begins. It’s a time to reset the focus and all the planning and striving, and take a moment to be still and see what He has in store for me.
That’s one of the biggest reasons I was so excited when my good friend Jeanne told me about a new course to start the year off with.
A four week study, with over 20 men and women seeking to find the quiet in each day, and listen to God’s voice. For me this was something I had to practice daily to get in the routine of listening for His voice. And now I wouldn’t think twice about moving forward without hearing Him first. I will share more in the study on how I learned to listen to Him, and what it looked like for me to “be Still”. I love this trailer that Jeanne put together, and hope you will be inspired by it as well.
You may be wondering if this study is for you. I can tell you right now if your heart strings were tugged by reading those words put to music in that preview, that this study IS for you! Maybe you are out of practice of listening to God’s voice? Maybe you’ve gotten caught up in the distractions this world loves to throw in our faces, you’ve been pulled away from the one relationship you were created to have? Maybe even just reading this is and hearing these words for the first time is new to you, but you are intrigued and want to know more? Whatever your story is, where ever you are at in your journey, if you are craving fresh perspective, guidance, direction, a new start perhaps? I can’t think of a better way, that joining us as we share how we “Listen | Find the Quiet”. That’s why Jeanne felt so strongly to offer this course for free, yes FREE!
The world can be so loud and we desperately need quiet. We need time to think, process, pray, worship, plan, dream, forgive, heal and find direction. To just be still. Do we give ourselves this time to be quiet and truly listen to the voice of the Lord? Are you striving and trying to navigate life in your own strength? Are you tired? Do you know that the Lord pursues you? Do you know that he wants to carry your burdens? Do you know that he deeply longs to communicate with you and have a relationship with you? Are you ready to find the quiet and listen to his voice?
Will you join me? Will you join us? See who else is sharing in this beautiful course :

I am a new reader of yours and love the blog! I didn’t know you, or many of these other bloggers I recognize, were Christians! I am definitely interested in the study, as I have a tendency to just go for things full force, without ever stopping to be quiet and listen, and then burn out. That is a challenge for me, especially now that I am building my own blog. I do find I can actually get MORE done if I spend that daily quiet time, instead of charging through it.
