Once all the decorating is done, and the boxes are back in the basement, it’s time to start up with the Christmas traditions. Other than decorating, it’s one of the things I look forward to most during the holiday season. From baking, to Christmas movie watching, driving around and looking at Christmas lights in our pj’s. We have so much we enjoy doing each year to soak in everything about this holiday season. One tradition that I grew up with was making home made gingerbread houses. My grandmother was a cake decorator for many years, so going to her house was always a “sweet” treat, especially around the holidays. Gingerbread houses for us was an all day event, that started with many days of prep work.
I shared her recipe and steps to make them on the blog once before, but it’s been a few years, and we are going to be making our gingerbread houses tomorrow, so I thought I would share it once more 🙂 It’s been a fun tradition, I have enjoyed starting with my own kids, and one they really look forward to!
