As I said in my last post, knowing what to hang on your walls can prove to be tricky sometimes. Today I’m going to highlight different art I have on my walls, and hopefully provide you with some inspiration for different types of art for your walls too! Again I will say, that I love framing family photos, especially large prints, but I’ve found if I’m doing a mix of different sized frames, I need to mix up what I put in those frames as well. For instance, in my gallery wall around our tv I used some family photos, some art prints, and some objects.
I even incorporated some easy DIY art hangings to bring balance to all the frames. You can click HERE to see how I made them just by using some art canvas’ and chalk paint, but really any type of paint would work. I also shared early in the week, that when it comes to decorating our walls we really have the chance to showcase our personality and interests.
On this side of our living room I have a large wooden sign with one of my favorite scriptures on it. Using pieces that inspire us are a great way to share our personality in a big way. Not only does it cover a large portion of my wall, but it acts more as a statement piece as well as complimenting my decor. In the middle of the two windows I have a framed quote on the top, and in the bottom frame a one-of-a-kind, hand painted water color from the time my dear friend Lucy (@CraftberryBush) came for a visit. It reminds me of her and our sweet friendship every time I see it.
Along with using family photos or signs, art hangings are a great way to add art to your walls, while breaking up frames. They are so unique and full of personality, and I love the feel they add to the space.
These antler prints are from Vol. 25, and I always go gah-gah over Jessica’s work. She’s recently just launched a new site, and to celebrate she has new designs listed and new trim colors available as well. However, they will only be listed for a limited time period.
I instantly went crazy over this Fern Study, because not only does it speak to my love for botanical prints, it’s the perfect balance of rustic and artsy for this neutral loving girl!
If you follow me on IG than you may have seen a sneak peak of our bathroom mini-makeover. Because we aren’t ready to tackle the bigger makeover yet, I did a little bit of a refresh to buy me sometime before it started driving me absolutely nuts! After a fresh coat of paint, I decided that I wanted to swap out every thing I had on the walls to make it feel even more refreshed.
I added a few fun art prints from Maker + Ink as well. I can’t wait to show you the rest of the space this weekend!
Lastly, another great option for adding art to your walls is using plates. I’ve done this multiple times throughout our home, and even mix it up a bit in our kitchen as well.
I hope this post has helped you see some of the different ways you can add art to your walls. And if you don’t know where to start, how about our giveaway that is currently going on with Maker + Ink!
