If you are like me, and you don’t necessarily gravitate towards big seasonal changes in your decor, than this post is for you. To decorate for fall, I may not be running for the first orange pumpkin I see, or orange plaid throw blanket, there are steps I take to refresh our living room for fall. Today I’m going to share with you some of my thought process that goes behind how I refresh our spaces as the seasons change.
You’ve heard me say it before, and I will say it again, but simply swapping out throw pillows and throw blankets can instantly refresh your space for fall without taking a whole lot of energy. It’s a quick fix, but one that really gives your space the transition from warmer months to cooler months. Do not underestimate the power of this simple switch-out.
Adding a cozy lighting is a great way to nest for fall. I love creating cozy corners. A sweet spot to land in with a warm beverage and a good book or magazine. I slightly angled a chair in our living room, and tucked THIS floor lamp behind it, and now I instantly have a cozy spot to curl up in for cooler days.
Another easy way I refresh my living room, is by swapping out summer decor touches for autumnal ones. A wooden tray is filled with dried wheat and faux pumpkins in cooler tones, for a subtle fall touch that’s easy on the eyes.
Probably, one of the biggest changes I made this year was swapping out my white curtains for THESE charcoal gray curtains from Wayfair. You can check out the step by step transformation below.
To hear me talk about all of these tips, and see them in action, I’d love for you to check out this weeks YouTube video with Wayfair, HERE.

I love the gray curtains, I had to wait for the before and after to load, for a minute I thought why the one white curtain and one gray, LOL. Love the simple fall touches.

I love your idea for changing out pillows, throw blankets and simple decor to easily transition from one season to the next. I don’t always have time to do major decor changes.
