I never used to care that much about our entryway before. I will admit, in our early days of decorating our home, I would only focus on the main area we would spend our time in, the living room. And while that’s totally fine for us who spend everyday in our home, I realized I left my guests feeling a bit uninvited until they finally made it into our living room. Our very first apartment was a typical new englander, and we had the second floor, however to enter our house you would come in on the main floor into an entryway, and then climb a giant flight of stairs to a tiny hallway and then enter into our living room. That gave our guests about 25 steps of cold, undecorated, not-cared-about space as my first impression. Yikes! Well thankfully I’ve learned from my mistakes, and realize now how nice it is to welcome my guests the moment they walk into our home. Today I’m teaming up with Balsam Hill to share with you a great way to decorate your entryway for the holidays.

You don’t have to add much to your entryway to make it feel warm and inviting. I shared in my post on creating a welcoming fall entryway that sometimes just a good cleaning is all it needs. However I think you’ll find that once it’s cleaned you may feel inspired to spruce it up with some decor.
I adore these Wintry Woodlands Potted Foliage from Balsam. They are nice and full, and have a mix of greens you would find in nature, which are my favorite elements to decorate with for the season. I like that they are on the neutral side and have a realistic nature look, which means they can stay out well post Christmas. Our winters last pretty long here in the Northeast, so having decor that can last through those long snowy months really helps!
I’ve said it before and I will say it again, investing in real-life looking faux greens will save you so much in the long run, not to mention having decor on hand instead of having to of out and hunt for it. I’ve always been disappointed with faux wreaths in the past.
They either never feel big enough, or never look “real” enough, and just leave me feeling unimpressed with their overall appearance. I have to say when this Evergreen Magnolia Wreath arrived from Balsam, I was speechless.
Not only is it nice and big. It is so full, and one of the most realistic looking faux’s I have seen, and it lights up. I added my favorite copper bells to the center for a subtle touch of farmhouse style, and I just love the way it looks.
I hope you feel inspired to spruce up your entryway for the holidays, and really welcome your guests into your home. Right now Balsam Hill is giving away $150 in gift cards to help! To enter, click HERE, and be sure to follow Balsam Hill on their social media for more decorating ideas.
