Hello Friends, and HAPPY WEEKEND! I’m so excited to be joining in with Balsam Hill’s 12 Bloggers of Christmas and sharing our NEW tree. If you are joining me from Erin at the Sunny Side blog, then Welcome, I’m so glad you are here! I loved Erin’s frosted tree from Balsam, and just in case you missed it, you can see it HERE, in her lovely home! I will have links to all the bloggers sharing at the bottom of this post, so be sure to scroll down for lots more inspiration. Now about our new tree!
I’m so excited to share our new Christmas tree with you today. If you’ve seen some of our Christmas tours from past years we had a beautiful flocked tree. This year I am changing things up and went with the most realistic looking faux tree you’ve ever seen! Seriously, she is a beaut!
This is Balsam Hill’s European Fir Tree, it’s new this year to the Balsam Hill collection. I decided since we went with a new tree this year, it only felt right to switch things up and put it in a NEW spot in our living room!
Nestled in between one of our wingback chairs and the half walls that open into our dining room, I put our tree. Honestly it feels so much cozier now in our living room, and I love that I get to curl up in our cozy chair right next to it!
I have to tell you, my favorite are these new ornaments from Balsam Hill’s Essentials Set. Especially the white ones, but I don’t think that’s much a surprise to you!
I mixed in different sizes, Balsam Hill’s white and gold matte and glossy ornaments. They are SO elegant, and I am in love with how it doesn’t take much to make this tree look festive.
Since our new tree is much larger on the bottom, I needed a larger tree skirt. I couldn’t resist this fringed tree skirt from Balsam.
It looks just like linen, and was inspired by those ever popular moroccan wedding blankets, with tons of texture, and tiny little champagne sparkles.
I added some shimmer and sparkle to our tree by using two different types of picks.
These beautiful pearl drop picks compliment the elegant feel of the white and gold ornaments. You can find them at Balsam Hill under tree picks. They are called Winter Pearl Glitter picks, and they are even more stunning in person.
Then I also mixed in some glittered coral tree picks. You guys these are amazing. Every inch of them is made from this high quality wire. Meaning even down to the very tip, I can bend and mold them however I like. I was so impressed by their quality, these are not your average picks!
And even though they are titled as “coral”, they looked like snow flakes to me. Shimmery, shiny snow flakes delicately placed throughout our tree.
I hope you enjoyed the first glimpse’s of Christmas in our living room, and our new tree. I will be sharing more of our living room this week, and can’t wait for you to see.
Are you ready for some more Christmas tree inspiration? 11 bloggers have teamed up to join Balsam Hill’s 12 Bloggers of Christmas, scroll down to see everyone.

Your tree is gorgeous! I got a tree from Balsam Hill two years ago. I absolutely love it. Turned me into a complete tree snob. Lol.
Karen says
Oh my gosh! Love this tree too! What height is yours? The bottom is huge so please tell me, are the bottom branches flexible enough to be pushed up against a wall or window? please reply as I’m ready to hit the buy button.
Bre says
Karen, I’m so dead serious, I will never want/need another tree again. The quality on this, it seriously is the MOST realistic faux tree I have ever seen. My husband even said he really loves the shape because it looks like a real tree! I have the 7.5′ ft. version, and the bottom branches do bend a bit, trust me I had to do some serious shoving to get it to not take up our whole living room, lol! Also when you first set up the bottom tiers, fluff the branches, THEN bend them to be pushed up against a window, it was much easier to do that first. Also I put a towel down underneath mind so I could push it back once I was down setting it up, it made it so much easier to glide on my hardwood floor (if you don’t have carpet 🙂 ). I’m telling you, you won’t be disappointed 🙂
Karen says
Thank you! Just placed my order. I’ve not put up a tree in over 25 years so I’m excited.
Bre says
ohh how exciting! I can’t wait to hear what you think 🙂
Karen says
I’m flabbergasted! The tree could not be more perfect. I’ve decorated it the old fashioned way with ornaments that have been in storage forever. My husband has said numerous times how good it looks. I’m happy happy happy. This tree is exactly the one I waited for. Good things come to those who wait. Worth every dollar.

We also got the new European Fir, but haven’t put it up yet. Can you tell me how many lights you used on this tree?
StePhanie Drake says
Oh, by the way…..your tree is beautiful!
Bre says
Oh my gosh Stephanie you are going to love it!! I used 500 lights, the first 300 just on the bottom 1/3, lol 🙂

Bre,
I have been eyeing those picks on their site. I love the way they look so delicate. It really elevates the tree.
