Even though, dare I say it, the hint for fall is starting to creep in my mind, I still find myself trying to soak in every single moment of summer, because I know, just around the corner the days start to become shorter, and cooler temps have me longing for sweaters and everything pumpkin spice! I know it’s too early to be mentioning it, but in New England fall comes promptly in September, so to celebrate the little bit of summer we have left I picked some flowers from my yard, and did a little decorating. I’m totally smitten with the bar cart trend that’s been going on, not sure what I’m talking about, just search “bar cart” on Pinterest and you will see an endless scroll of inspiration. There are so many different ways you can utilize a bar cart as well, some for plants, some for craft supplies, and of course some for drinks! I picked up this sweet little bar cart back in March, and have used it in a few areas around my house, and even though it doesn’t have a permanent spot yet I wanted to show you how I styled my bar cart for summer!
First of all I love that it’s on wheels! It makes it so easy to move around, and use where I need it, when I need it. I liked the overall size of this one, and the vintage look of the legs. The shiny brass makes it feel a little more elegant vs. rustic, and has me reminiscent of the 1920’s.
I chose to show how you can style it if you don’t make cocktails on a regular occasion, by incorporating some of my favorite serving pieces. Tucked into a corner in our dining room, it’s conveinent location makes it easy to grab an extra glass or table linens when we are eating around the table.
I used the top shelf to hold more “decor” items, that’s key when you are styling areas in your work spaces, so that it’s not all business, this helps keeps things feeling relaxed, yet still purposeful.
The bottom shelf has more of my “purposeful” items – extra serving trays, cake stands, silverware, and extra linen napkins.
Since blue is one of my favorite colors, I chose it to be the re-accurring color carried throughout for a more cohesive look. I brought in blue glasses, napkins, candle sticks, and even some coffee table books with a navy blue binding to tie things together.
The hydrangeas came from our yard near our chicken coop! If you caught the post where I shared about our chicken coop, you might remember seeing them. In case you missed the post you can view it HERE.

I like yours and the way you have styled it. I want one but, haven’t found the perfect one yet, they are very useful.

I do not have a bar cart yet, but I really like the way you styled yours. Those wood pedestal cake stands are nice.
