Hello Friends!! I am spreading some more holiday cheer today around our home, this time in our master bedroom. I’m so excited because I have some friends joining me today as well, so whether you choose to decorate your bedroom for christmas or not, I think you are sure to be inspired in todays post.
It doesn’t take much to make things festive for the holidays, just a few simple touches, and your room will feel ready for the holidays in no time. Over the years I’ve added christmas decor to our bedroom in different ways. Twinkle lights, table top trees, artwork, and even hung garland over our headboard. I love it all! But I think what is important is to decorate however you are in the mood for.
Some years I feel like going all out, and not letting any surface left untouched. Other years I crave more of simplistic look. One or two statement pieces. And let’s face some years, I don’t even get to decorating our bedroom for christmas, because I’m burnt out from decorating the rest of the house, LOL.
The important part is, you do whatever makes you feel happy. It’s about spreading christmas cheer, right?! This year it was totally about one to two statement pieces, and let me tell you. I am going to be so sad when I have to put away this little nightstand vignette I created next to my bed.
Wild & Sweet, this Lindsay Letters canvas in schoolhouse green with it’s vintage gold frame gives me all the feels for Christmas. A few simple bottle brush trees, and a tiny deer was all the decor I needed to accompany this art, and instantly everything felt just right.
Funny thing, my husband pretty much lets me do whatever I want when it comes to decorating, especially during the holidays, but this year he said that our room looks the best to him that it has yet!
I think that might be impartial to cozy new bedding I added as well. Extra blankets are a must here in New England during our winter months, but most recently I added some bedding that I think was the missing key to our most recent bedroom makeover.
You know when you see something and it just stops you in your tracks? When we were on our recent trip to Waco, we visited the sweetest shop! Seriously, if you make the trip to Waco to visit Magnolia Market, right in it’s backyard is another amazing store! The Findery. I was awestruck from the moment we walked in the door, and didn’t want to leave.
Then as I’m walking around upstairs (yes, this shop was huge!) I stumbled upon the most beautiful bedding. Actually it caught my eye from across the room, and I literally could not b-line it over there fast enough, lol!
First of all it’s linen, which if you know me at all, than you know how much I love linen! And second it’s white (he he) with the most subtle black stripe. And I have to say now having it home on our bed, our bedroom feels complete! And I don’t ever want to get out of bed.
I mentioned in my post yesterday, that it’s all about adding the cozy layers in for winter. I love adding in pieces to my rooms, especially during the holidays, with materials that add texture and warmth. The best part is they can last right through the holidays and be left out all winter long.
