Hello friends!! And Happy Friday!! I can hardly believe that the weekend is here already. I feel like I blinked and this past week went by, but I have to tell you I am so excited, because tomorrow we are getting outside to start our spring cleanup, and I am itching to get it started! My wheels have already been turning on what new plants I want to add this year, and some landscaping goals I want to tackle. If you’ve never seen the outside of our house I shared some views of it in last years landscaping plan post, HERE. But today I wanted to pop in really quick and share with you a recent post I wrote for the Christian Mommy blog.
I know that while most of the posts I share here are encouragement to love your home more, and also encourage you in life, in whatever stage you happen to be in. While I know not everyone has kids at home, I wanted to share this post with you, just in case some of my mommy friends need some encouragement. It wasn’t too long ago that I found myself in the throes of toddler-hood feeling like everyone had been keeping a HUGE secret from me about motherhood.
Sometimes you find yourself smack dab in this mundane routine with no end in sight. I felt duped, like everyone failed to mention in the midst of seeing your baby take their first steps, and the endless cuddles, there were days that quite frankly – no amount of coffee could fix. In fact there were days when I couldn’t even make it through a cup of coffee because I had put it down, only to find it at 2pm in the afternoon cold!
I’ve shared a little bit on here before about serving our families out of love, and the need sometimes to shift our perspective. I found myself feeling disappointed in the dream of what I thought motherhood would be, and learned that unless I changed my perspective it was going to be a very long road.
So for my mom friends who might be needing a bit of encouragement as we head into the weekend check out my latest post HERE on the Christian Mommy, and I hope it gives you just the dose of encouragement we moms need from time to time 🙂
