I’m so glad that my last post, “the not-so-perfect home”, resonated with so many of you! It sparked quite the topic of conversation when I originally asked the question on Instagram, and after reading so many great responses, I knew I wasn’t alone. It’s hard with Pinterest sometimes to feel like our homes don’t always look quite as perfect, or are feeling a little less then “Pinterest – worthy” views, but I believe that even in those perfect homes, there is something the homeowner doesn’t like.
Over the past 8 years, much of my “tinkering” throughout our home has stemmed from just that. Walls I didn’t like, or bump outs that felt more like an after thought instead of part of the original floor plan. It’s true in old homes there are many quirks, like sloping ceilings and tiny closets. Even more so though are the quirks of what people have done along the way to try and “improve” the home, even if it doesn’t go with the era of the home.
I’ve shared before the transformation that every room in our home has taken to become the spaces you see today, and even though they each have their own post, I wanted to group them together here, in one easy to find spot. Sometimes seeing someone else’s room evolve gives us fresh eyes for our own spaces. And if it’s one thing I try most to do, is to “Inspire others to Love the space they Live in”.
Some of these spaces you may be familiar with, but each room has taken it’s own journey, or right of passage if you will, lol.
Living Room
It’s funny in putting this post together, I realized that I don’t have a most current post up about the transformation of our living room with the latest photos, however I’m actually in the progress of tweaking a few things in this space. But if you click above you will read all about the mistake rug purchase I made, and how it ultimately kick-started me getting the living room I really love, the one you see today!
