Fall Mantle | 2019

09/11/2019 By Bre

Hello Friends!! Are you feeling the urge to start decorating for fall yet? If not, maybe todays fall inspired mantle will help you get the creative juices flowing 😉 Since I don’t have an actual mantle that I decorate, I love to use the dresser in our dining room as a “make-shift” mantle where I swap out our decor seasonally. Come and see what I did this year for fall ~

I thought instead of just showing you the finished mantle, I’d share my process step by step. I’m a visual learner, and love seeing the process, so in case you are that way too – this one is for you!

To start, I clear my entire surface off. This way it gives me a clean slate to work with :

Using my mirror as the center focal point, I then add height to both sides.

I grouped together candle holders, in varying heights, keeping the tallest ones on the outside to act as book ends.

Then, I brought in my letter board. Creating a grouping of three things on the left and right side of my vignette.

You’ll notice not everything is the exact same height, but working with similar heights still creates symmetry overall.

Then I filled in around the candle holders with my terra cotta pots.

I placed a grouping of three pots on the left, and filled in with only two pots on the right. You’ll notice I did the opposite on the right side keeping my groupings in odd numbers.

2 candle holders + 3 pots = 5 / 3 candle holders + 2 pots = 5

Lastly, it was time to fill in with the pumpkins.

I decided to go with all white pumpkins, some real and some faux, for a more neutral fall look, but really you could add whatever pumpkins you like 🙂

I went outside and clipped some leaves from our yard, and used them as filler for the pumpkins to rest on. You could also use moss or shredded craft paper from the craft store, but I liked bringing in this element of nature from outside.

I picked up the letter board from Hobby Lobby last month, for 50% off, and added a simple fall greeting, to subtly welcome the new season.

I loved using these terra cotta pots in my Spring Mantle last year, and in my Spring Tablescape earlier this year, I decided to bring them out again. They brought in so much warmth and texture in traditional fall color, I loved the idea of using them to hold pumpkins instead of flowers 🙂

And today I’ve been joined by some of my blogging friends who are also sharing their Fall decor ideas through their Fall mantel decor or Fall Vignette. Just click on the links below the images to see more…

Hi Mary! Thank you SO much 🙂 I got the candlesticks from Wayfair a few years ago, and honestly I still love them just as much! They came in the set of 5 which is great to use all together, or I’ve broken them up sometimes to use only 2 or 3. Here is the link – https://rstyle.me/+9ylKT91TcDMMArsgiqKzBg
