Hello Friends!! Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! We had a wonderful rainy Sunday, and even though we’ve been home all week, it felt like just the lazy day our souls needed. We lounged on the couch, watched movies, played games together as a family, and just spent time resting together. During one of those lazy lounge sessions on our couch I opened up an app I’ve actually had for a few years now, but found myself completely content within seconds as I started transforming some of my favorite photos into watercolor paintings! So in case you are in the mood for a little watercolor therapy, grab your paint brush … or ummm .. your phone, and check out my favorite painting app!
The app is called Waterlogue. *This is not sponsored, just something I really love.* And it’s great because it has the same calming effect I get when I actually paint, except there’s no mess to clean up at the end. And it’s perfect for those who feel less than confident in their painting skills. Just upload a photo and tap the Preset Style setting you like best, and you’re done!

Let me show you how it works ~
First you select your photo. They do also have ones already loaded in the app you can select, but I love to transform photos I have snapped around our house. Let me show you how it works with this photo of our chicken coop below.
You can change the bleed of the paint brush by selecting different styles below the photo.
Once you have selected the Preset style of watercolor painting you like, keep scrolling to the right and you can choose different options for the size of the brush strokes.
You can also change the color shade with options ranging from darkest to lightest.
Once you are done make sure you save your masterpiece back to your camera roll, or you can share it directly from the app to a social media platform of your choice, but tapping the icon below the photo to the right (the square with the arrow pointing up). If you want to upload a new photo, tap the camera icon below the current photo on the left.
Here are some photos I “painted” yesterday ~
Familiar views around our house ~
I even transformed some photos I snapped of the kids and our summer vacations ~
I’m definitely planning on printing some of these to put in frames. I’m also thinking I might make a tiny photo book of my favorite photos of around our home as a sweet little keepsake.
I tend to like the “It’s Technical” preset style best, which shows the tiny graph paper look in these photos, but other preset styles don’t show that look.
