Summer Living Room | 2020

Hello Friends!! I’m so excited to be joining in with some other blogging friends today to share the first glimpse’s of summer in our home! Summer is my favorite season in our home. It’s hard to explain, but our home just seems to come alive during the summer months. Maybe it’s all the windows we finally get to open, and let in that warm summer breeze, or spending every possible moment on our farmers porch, watching our chickens in our yard. I can’t quite pin it on just one thing, but I’m so glad summer is finally here. Today I’m sharing my living room, and the few simple changes I made to freshen things up for summer.

Simple . Casual . Airy

That was the vibe I was going for as I spruced things up in our living room. I wanted to encompass all of those feelings, and most importantly encompass the laid-back summer mood that welcomes a slower pace and throughs schedules out the door.

One of the ways I love to switch things up seasonally in our decor is by changing up the art in my picture frames. However, this year instead of printing out new art, I went outside and snipped some branches from my ferns, and framed the clippings.

I simply took clippings and placed them on a piece of heavy white card stock. Placed some scotch tap at the bottom of the stems to secure them in place, and then placed them in the frame. Instant art upgrade, and perfect for the casual summer vibe I was after.

I’m also LOVING this new striped pillow cover from With Lavender & Grace! It’s a muted taupe color, that feels more like a warmer gray, and adds just enough interest to the space without feeling too busy – simple.

I love to incorporate pops of navy blue in my summer decor, but this year I was craving something a little softer – airy. I’m loving this new pillow combo also from With Lavender & Grace, the soft chambray blue has just the relaxed feeling I was wanting, and paired with the crisp whites, it reminds me of my favorite summer outfit 🙂
