Hello Friends! The sweet sounds of summer have graced our backyard! Birds singing again, leaves back on the trees, and the smell of fresh cut grass. While the world around us still feels uneasy and uncertain, I decided to shop my home for this years Summer Mantle decor, making it 100% FREE to me. It’s true I have collected quite the arsenal of home decor over the past few years of blogging, but as I pulled out pieces to use I’m reminded of the advice I always share when it comes to buying things for your home. When you absolutely love what you buy, then you will love the room you decorate it with even more. Making it decor to last through the years, not just provide a quick fix.
I love how it turned out, and can’t wait for you to come and see ~
The dresser in our dining room we use as a buffet, is always my favorite place to create seasonal vignettes. I like that it’s a bit deeper than an actual mantle, giving me a little bit more room to play around with my design.
The first thing I did was grab all of my white and green faux floral stems and laid them out so I could see what I was working with.
A great tip when shopping your house is to pull things that are in the same color scheme. Not only are all my faux flowers green and white, but I kept things very monochromatic in the other pieces I used as well.
I broke the “rules” a little bit with this vignette, I created groupings of four on either side of my buffet, instead of sticking with odd numbered groupings. I could have used groups of 3 on either side, but I wanted my vignette to feel a little more full – almost like a display in a flower shop, and groups of 5 just felt like too much. So 4 it was!
I grabbed these two abstract canvas paintings I had made a few years ago that had been hanging in another room in our house. The blue tones give me the feel of waves at the ocean, and I love how the color in the paintings plays off the paint colors on my dining room walls – playing in to that monochromatic look, and keeping things nice and cohesive.

I grabbed all my white farmhouse pitchers, and decided to use those to arrange my faux flowers in. Using the same type of vase for each arrangement, adds more of a “collected” look to my vingette.
You might recognize some of the faux floral stems I used in this summer mantle design. My favorite white tulips, seeded eucalyptus, and white peonies can all be found on Amazon – HERE.

I just adore your homemade canvas art!!! The art itself is beautiful, but it just really looks so nice against the gray wall. I love your Summer buffet!!!!

A true designer doesn’t but have to stick to the rule of three or five, a true designer can work with even numbers and make it work, you Bre are a true designer. Love your blog, thank you for your blog!!!!
