Hello friends! We have made it through another week! Today officially marks 2 weeks that we have been in our new house, and I can honestly say that we are LOVING every minute of it. It’s so much more than we could have even thought possible or hoped for, and I can’t wait to share it with all of you! This week on YouTube we shared a Final Walk through of our last house – the one you all know and love. And it’s got me thinking….
If you’ve seen our latest episode on YouTube, then you probably know it’s a little emotional. Not in a bad way, but in a reminiscing way so to speak as we remember all the things we loved about that house so much. Looking at now, since we’ve moved I will cherish this episode forever, because it means I will always get to take one final walk through in that house.
We shot the video towards the end of March, just before things started turning green outside. But it was also right before we started packing, so you get to see the house one final time fully decorated. And while I haven’t started decorating our new house yet, watching this video reminded me something that is so special about the pieces we choose to put inside our homes.
These things aren’t just knick-knacks or clutter. These are carefully selected pieces we choose to help tell the story of our lives. They are the details that transform as house into a home. From the furniture we have to the pictures we hang on our walls, all of it encompasses who we are and what we love.
So as you watch this weeks episode think about what details you have in your own home that make it a space you love. I think it’s easy to forget sometimes when we walk by the same things everyday. But as I’ve taken everything off of the walls, and packed away our decor, the evidence is so clear for me to see. Decor isn’t just “stuff” we use to fill our homes, but an artistic display of who we are.
