Hello Friends!!
I promised I would give a closer look of our new hutch in our dining room styled for fall. Honestly I’m already dreaming up all my ideas for how I want to decorate it for Christmas this year, so before we say good-bye to the pumpkins, I wanted to share some more details on how I add some simple fall touches for fall. If you caught my Fall Home Tour, then you got a few glimpse’s of our new hutch in the dining room. And for those who have asked, you have NOT missed my tutorial yet for how I gave this FB Marketplace find a makeover. We had a few hold ups for the tutorial video, but everything should be finished and up by the end of this week, so STAY TUNED!
Come and take a look at how I styled our Dining room Hutch for fall ~
One of the things I miss the most from our old house is our open shelves we had in our kitchen. If you’ve been a follower for a while, then you probably remember how I loved to style them in different seasons, especially at Christmas time. While we don’t have any open shelves in our new house yet, this hutch is definitely helping to fill that void, and giving me a spot to artfully display some of my favorite serving pieces.
For fall, I used a mix of faux pumpkins and gourds, as well as sprinkling tiny white baby boo pumpkins everywhere I could. I don’t think there are any rules when it comes to decorating with pumpkins, I just simply scatter them around on different shelves, and cake stands for added height.
I added a few brass accent pieces, because I love the warm aged patina it adds, especially for fall. And some dried fall stems to emphasize the seasonal look I was going for.
One of my favorite fall staple decor pieces is this white clay turkey I have. It only gets to come out for a couple of months during this time of the year, and then back into storage it goes. I actually picked up this turkey from Target more then 10 years ago for my mom, and when she downsized her home, it was one of the first things I asked for. This turkey has been with me through many thanksgiving tablescapes, and is that one piece that puts a smile on my face when it’s time to bring her out 🙂
A few brown transferware bowls and plates stacked neatly, and some wooden acorns finish off this little vignette in the corner.
When decorating the hutch for fall, I chose to kept to the same three colors, and placed them throughout the hutch. White, green, and antiqued brass. Of course you can decorate for fall with any color you like, but when styling a specific area, I like the cohesiveness it brings when repeating the same colors throughout the space. It helps my decor feel a little more intentional, and carefully thought out.
