Hello Friends!
I can’t believe we are less than a week away to Christmas. The kids are counting down the sleeps, and while I still have a few stocking stuffers left to buy, we are all very excited to have our first Christmas in our new home. There is something so magical about the glow of Christmas lights at night around the house. I was walking into the kitchen the other night, and my eyes began to dance around the room from one sparkly set of lights to the next. So today I’m joining up with some blogging friends to show you what our house looks light at night.
I never get tired of this cozy night time glow ~
If you are hopping over from Thistlewood Farms – Hello! Don’t you just love Karianne’s home at night all decorated for Christmas. It shines so bright, just like my sweet friend Karianne ๐
One view I don’t think I will ever grow tired of is the beautiful glow from our Christmas tree at night. There is just something about those soft white lights, and the subtle glow that lights up the room, that makes me smile every time. My son has taken on the task, all on his own, of being in charge of turning on the Christmas tree lights every morning. He actually insists that he has to be the one to turn them on, and comes down every morning on a mission ๐
An added bonus, is seeing the all the Christmas tree lights reflect off of the piano. It almost gives the same effect of disco ball, twinkling all around the room.

Heading into our Dining Room, you get the most beautiful glow from tree #2. This is the tree that I’ve used in our living room at our previous house the past two years, and I love how perfectly it fits in this corner of our dining room.
I shared our fireplace mantle decorated for Christmas over the weekend, and mentioned how beautiful it is at night with all the twinkle light strands lit up. There’s a few things left we have to do to make it a working fireplace again, when we moved in there was a wood stove installed in it, so for now I stacked some birch logs my husband cut up for me from a tree that fell down in our yard, and draped a couple strands of twinkle lights over them.
Looking into our kitchen from the fireplaceI added a few simple Christmas touches that come alive at night with more mini light strands. I love these strands of lights so much because they are battery operated, and make it so easy to tuck into little spot around your house, without long cords or needing to be plugged in. Which makes them so easy to add into the kitchen.
I used command strips and hung one of my favorite Christmas signs above the stove. I got this framed canvas from Lindsay Letters a few years ago, but every Christmas I take it out and re-read it, it puts a smile on my face, and brings to mind all the things I love about Christmas.
This is friends & family, magic and miracles, cookie baking and memory making! This is Christmas.

I hung this faux garland over our sink with a few pom pom garlands, and a diy pom pom wreath I made a few years ago. I love how this little view comes to light at night all lit up.
I hope you enjoyed seeing our holiday home at night. Next up on the tour is The Happy Housie. So be sure to stop by and say hello, and tell her Room for Rent sent you ๐
