Hello Friends!
It may not feel quite like spring outside this week here in New England, but the calendar tells me it’s coming. March can always feel like a weird month, almost stuck in this in-between sort of state. With the tease of a couple of warm days, and day-light savings, the promise of spring is on the horizon. But with the bitter cold days of winter still lingering sometimes you aren’t sure what season you are in. I’ve been doing a little refreshing around our home, with spring on my mind, so today I’m sharing how I styled my hutch for spring!
Come and take a Look ~
Much like the open shelves in our previous kitchen, I go about styling the hutch in our dining room the same way. In many ways this hutch has taken the place of the open shelves I had in our old kitchen, and used for displaying all of my favorite serving pieces.
While the drawers of the hutch I use for practical storage of my collection of table linens, candle votives, and taper candles, I fill the shelves on the hutch with white serveware I’ve collected over the years.
My collection includes farmhouse pitchers, cake stands in different sizes, little creamers, and some of my favorite stoneware pieces. Seeing them all out on display brings a smile to my face anytime I look over at my hutch.
These pieces I’ve hand picked over time and added to my collection are a reflection of my style and how I live by my own motto – only decorate with the things you Love.
It’s my favorite way to add decor back into our dining room. By displaying pieces that are not only pretty to look at, but practically used for entertaining. Having them out, not only keeps them on hand, which means they will actually get used vs. if I had them tucked away in a closet or storage container.
I typically will add a piece here or there when I’m browsing the aisles of HomeGods, and I see something I just can’t live without. Sometimes I grab a few things, other times it’s just one little creamer. While my pieces don’t all come from the same place, I think that’s one of the things that makes my collection feel personal. It’s filled with pieces that have caught my eye, and remind me of the cute boutique or shopping trip I got them on.
I added two new pieces this year, that I’ve been eyeing for awhile, which is also what makes adding to the collection fun. Treasured pieces that I’ve been eyeing, or received as special gifts. It’s a collection that feels unique to me, yet full of pieces that are tried and true, and perfect for any gathering.

Absolutely love your style! My husband gave me your new book for my birthday and I love it!! Recommended it to a friend. When she first browsed through it, her first comment was, “I Have to take out my cake stands!”
Keep all your wonderful ideas coming!!!
