Hi Friends!
There’s something about fall that calls for layers of texture, warm earthy tones, and natural elements that make a space instantly feel more inviting. One of the simplest ways to bring that harvest-inspired charm into your home is with a fall basket arrangement. Using dried flowers, grasses, and a woven basket, you can create a cozy accent that looks beautiful in any room—and the best part is, it will last all season long.
Let’s Get Started ~

Why Baskets Make Perfect Fall Decor
Woven baskets are a staple in fall decor for a reason—they’re timeless, versatile, and full of charm. Whether you place one in your entryway to welcome guests, style it as an autumn basket centerpiece on the dining table, or tuck it into a kitchen corner, baskets instantly add warmth and texture. They also pair beautifully with natural fall decorations, letting the dried flowers and grasses take center stage.

What to Include in a Fall Basket Arrangement
The beauty of a dried flower arrangement for fall is in the mix of textures and colors. Some of the best dried flowers and botanicals to use are:
- Fluffy bunny tails for soft texture
- Golden wheat stems for that harvest feel
- Cattails and seed pods for rustic character
- Preserved leaves in muted greens and browns for depth
This palette of creams, tans, browns, and golden hues mirrors the changing season outdoors and brings those cozy autumn vibes inside.

I started by filling the bottom of my basket with leftover craft paper. You could use newspaper, tissue paper, or dry floral foam.
Then I began by placing my faux fall stems first. These larger stems helped fill in my basket and provided pockets for me to add in my smaller stems, like bunny tails and dried wheat around them.

With my faux stems in place, it was time to add in the clusters of preserved stems. I used dried bunny tail, wheat, and white button flowers to add layers and fullness to my arrangement.

For each dried stem I wanted to add, I created smaller bundles and secured them with floral tape. This way, I could add more to my arrangement at a time, while also keeping the individual stems from getting tangled up. This technique gave me more control over the placement of each bundle so I could arrange them evenly throughout my basket.

To finish off my hanging basket arrangement, I added dried cattails and lotus pods. The different shapes and colors added more dimension and interest to my arrangement, along with added texture.

Tips for Making It Last Through the Season
One of the best parts of decorating with dried flowers is how long they last. To keep your fall basket arrangement looking fresh:
• Keep it out of direct sunlight to prevent fading.
• Dust occasionally with a soft brush or low air setting on a hair dryer.
• Store stems carefully after the season to reuse in future arrangements.

Creating a simple fall basket arrangement made with dried flowers and natural textures is one of the easiest ways to bring the beauty of the season indoors. The best part? It’s low-maintenance and lasts well beyond a fresh bouquet, making it a staple you can use year after year.
So grab a basket, gather some dried stems, and create your own version of this effortless fall styling idea.
