Hi Friends!
There’s something so special about creating little seasonal moments around the house, and this fall vignette in our dining room has quickly become one of my favorites. As soon as the leaves start to change outside, I can’t resist bringing a little bit of that autumn magic indoors. Instead of feeling the pressure of decorating the entire house for fall, I like to focus on one area at a time. Creating a seasonal vignette on our buffet is one of my favorite areas to start with.
Come and See ~

This cozy fall vignette is the perfect mix of rustic charm and seasonal warmth. Our weathered wood sideboard anchors the space, styled with simple but thoughtful touches that welcome autumn inside.
A large, distressed white mirror reflects light and adds depth, while a ceramic lamp with a neutral linen shade brings in a soft, ambient glow.

A wicker vase filled with golden-orange fall stems instantly adds that autumn pop of color. I layered accents like stacked books, taper candles, and a small white pumpkin to create a collected, lived-in feel. I chose books in deep brown and a golden yellow that represented more of the warm-toned fall look I was craving.

I swapped out my table lamps for one with a darker-toned color and added a few flameless taper candles. Adding lamps and candles is a way you can achieve that cozy feeling visually for the shorter days in the months ahead.

To finish off this side of my vignette, I brought out my brown transferware plates (a fall favorite!), stacked neatly with a pumpkin placed on top. Since this buffet is in our dining room, using some of my seasonal serving pieces is another way what I have out on display – speaks fall to me.

The vintage oar leaned casually against the wall and the patterned drapes nearby add even more texture and character, tying the whole look together. It’s a fall moment that feels both cozy and effortless—proof that a few well-chosen details can completely transform a corner of your home for the season.

To show you the subtle changes I made to transition this sideboard over to fall, I included a photo of how I had it previously styled for summer below ~

While the main pieces remained the same – such as leaving the mirror as the main focal point – I swapped out pieces that reflected the colors, tones, and textures that speak to Fall for me. As we begin to prepare for fall, take a look around your home at the colors, tones, and textures you currently have on display. Decorating for fall doesn’t always mean adding more decor, but rather being mindful of what you have out on display that reflects the current season we are in.

Thanks, it all looks so pretty and perfect colors for Fall.
I would love to “nest” but the leaves are falling and need to be moved to the growing pile! Maybe winter will be my nesting time of the year 🙏
