Farmhouse Spring Home Tour! Just saying the word puts a smile on my face. I don’t know why, but I don’t think I can say the word “spring” without smiling. I instantly get visions in my head of flowers popping up out of the ground, and trees budding outside. A sign that winter is over, and a new season is beginning. I always say that fall is my favorite season, and Christmas is my favorite holiday, but secretly every time spring hits, it gives fall a run for it’s money. Something about the warmer air, the longer days, and the signs of fresh new green everywhere gives me peace.
What better way to welcome Spring to our doorsteps then with 17 Cozy Spring Home Tours, along with some of our favorite tips for decorating for spring?! Grab your favorite hot beverage, and enjoy the tour!
For me Spring means flowers! I don’t know if it’s because with winter here everything is covered in snow. I mean as much as I like white, seeing those fresh pops of green as snow begins to melt is so exciting. So I like to carry that excitement into our home with fresh flowers.
I put away all the winter faux fur throw blankets, and pillow covers, for lighter fabrics that can carry my into summer. Just lightening the space visually, makes things feel fresh for spring.
In years past I’ve brought in pops of yellow, but this year my focus has been on keeping things simple. For me though it doesn’t really matter what color flowers I add, fresh flowers are my treat to me, and the one way you can instantly add the freshness of spring to any space.
In our dining room, I added more white tulips in milk glass to our table, along with some of my favorite treats for a spring time coffee date with my girls!
Simple and tasty, it sets the tone for a time full of great conversation! I love gathering around our table and catching up with friends face to face, and spending quality time being with one another. Something FaceBook will never replace.
Winter can turn us into hermits up here in the northeast. Heck, I don’t even see my neighbors, outside in the winter months. I guess I should say we like to hibernate, not so much that we are hermits. So spring is a perfect time to get together with friends, catch up on life, and get moving again, after a winter spent inside.
To emphasize Springs return, I added some fresh baby blue hydrangeas to my buffet, and created a little spring vignette, making a bold statement on our Schoolhouse Chalkboard.
Sometimes creating vignettes can feel daunting, so for this one, I used my dough bowl as a a starting point. Sometimes having a tray or bowl to place items in, gives us boundaries so we don’t get carried away, or wind up off course. Some torn books, white dishes, and a few creamers tie in with my coffee brunch set up on my table, but can also be left out even when the coffee time is over.
I keep things pretty simple in the kitchen. Almost all of the items you see are used on a daily basis. I just add touches of spring with more fresh hydrangeas and little touches of green.
Our open shelves are a great way to add subtle changes to seasonally, while still remaining practical, stocked with my go-to farmhouse kitchen necessities.
Decorating for Spring doesn’t have to be fussy or complicated. Just the simplicity of changing things up in a space, or just adding some fresh flowers is all it takes for it to feel like Spring is in the air! Be sure to stop by and see how everyone else added some Spring touches to their own spaces, and hopefully it inspires you to add some Spring to your home today too!
