Vintage little Girls Room Reveal

I am so excited to share our little girls room with all of you today!! You don’t even know the deep sigh of relief I am taking as I’m writing this now! I feel like this was the project that would never end! Not because it was hard to do, or we hit any road blocks, but because life happens, and sometimes in design that means that projects get put on hold, or we loose momentum, or you just simply have to a take a break and come back to it. Well that was certainly the case for our little girls room, but I can honestly say that she is even more excited than I am. I hope you enjoy our vintage themed little girls room makeover!

You may remember me sharing the design plan for her room HERE a year ago! Yeah, it’s been one of those projects! I find when I decorate my kids rooms, like any spaces in our house, it’s a pieced together look, and sometimes those take time to put together. There is waiting involved as you gather those pieces and inspiration. I will be sharing more details next week on how I put her room together, but for now lets just enjoy her completed room!

There were a few key DIY’s that went into her space, like creating this reading nook next to her bed. I’m drawn to cozy spaces, I think that’s why I like to create them in every room of our house. As a child my favorite place to be was in my room. I wanted our daughter to have some cozy spaces in her room that she would love to spend time in.

The mesh canopy was an inexpensive Amazon find, and then I used scissors to cut the opening. I DIY’d the ribbon mobile, and will share the tutorial soon, along with making some simple DIY tissue paper pom pom’s for the top. Since her room is soft and neutral a few fun throw pillows with the accent colors of the pink, vintage blue and gold create a cozy landing spot to curl up in. If you caught our recent Master Bedroom refresh, than you know my love for white bedding. It’s classic, it’s simple, and I love how you instantly feel like you are staying at a cottage B&B.

I layered a white pick stitch quilt from Home Goods, over her original gray and white ticking strip sheets from Target (no longer carry), and finished it off with a fun and girls peachy pink duvet cover from the Land of Nod. It’s fun and full of texture, and just the right amount of girly. I refinished an antique headboard to resemble a restoration hardware look, but I think we can all agree the gorgeous wall paper from Caitlin Wilson Design behind her bed completes the look.

In our daughters bedroom she has one long wall with an eaves ceiling, so figuring out what to do in the space so it still felt cozy was challenge. We used the silhouette wall paper in blush, to create a dramatic focal point, and then used it on an accent wall across her room to make the space feel cohesive.

Right as you walk in our daughters room, the wall bumps back a bit, creating another nook! So to highlight this area where her toy chest and hooks are, we hung the silhouette wall paper, which created a beautiful back drop, and then added THIS gorgeous sign from Between You & Me Signs!

To the right of her dresser, is her closet, and then between the two windows in the front of her room, we placed her coloring table, because this girl loves to draw!

One of the final pieces we added to her space was THIS adorable chandelier from Joss & Main. It adds the perfect touch of whimsy, and compliments the vintage feel she has throughout her room. 

There are so many beautiful design elements that went into creating this space, so I will be highlighting those next week, along with going into more detail on the ones I shared today, but for now I was just too excited, I couldn’t wait to show you her space! Have a wonderful weekend!
