Hello Friends! And welcome any new friends, if you are visiting from another blog participating in todays Christmas tablescape tour. Honestly whenever the word tablescape is in the title, I get a little giddy. We are back for another round of Seasons of Home Holiday Decor, and this time sharing our Christmas tablescapes. Last week we all shared our Christmas kitchens, and there was so much inspiration, I just want to bake Christmas cookies now, lol. I will actually be sharing a few different holiday table looks over the next couple weeks, so for todays Christmas tablescape I went a little more casual with my decor, and I can’t wait for you to see!
I recently made some changes in our dining room furniture. You can find all the details HERE, and I will be sharing more after the holidays.
For my casual look, I started off by using a plaid throw blanket I found at HomeGoods, for my tablecloth. It is so soft of fuzzy, like flannel sheets, making the table feel cozy, and the plaid pattern feels a bit more relaxed, almost like a picnic.
Keeping things casual, I used a few simple bottle brush trees, and some reindeer tea light holders to add a woodland touch that compliments my plaid throw blanket.
However, for my place settings I mixed our everyday white plates, with elegant glassware and silverware for a more pieced together look.
I layered soft linen napkins from Caravan, casual draping from each place setting. They are simple, with a very relaxed look, that help keep my table feeling casual, even with my fine china, hand-me-down glassware.
It’s all a balance between mix and matching for this casual Christmas tablescape. I wanted it to feel relaxed, but still hold a little bit of the special nostalgia that comes with Christmas.
Balancing the plaid throw blanket, I added mercury glass votives for an added little sparkle, and jingle bells scattered throughout for a tiny bit of whimsy.
Even though I used our everyday white plates, these place settings certainly aren’t lacking.
Layered underneath each place setting our marble serving platters I used as chargers. Even though the are casual in shape, and simple in design. These beautiful platters add a sense of elegance just from their material alone.
They are so smooth, and add a touch of sophistication to each place setting. I love that they are classic and could be used in any season, but their soft white hue gives a resemble of fresh snow that has just fallen.

I love your table setting and the idea of using trees is so neat. I don’t think its bad using settings that aren’t so fancy, sometimes children can be overcome by things they’re not sure of and after all children and Jesus are what Christmas is all about.

Bre, I love your blog and this tablescape but the ads on your page have gotten completely out of hand. I’ve never complained on a blog before and hope this is more of a heads up but I had to just scroll to the bottom to leave a comment because ads popped up in front of, at the bottom of and beside every photo. I was constantly trying to close them til I just gave up. Hope there is something you can do. Good work as always.
