Hello Friends! I’m so glad you enjoyed my DIY fall “wreath” I shared yesterday! It had been quite a while since I had crafted if you will, and it felt so nice to do something a little different than just decorating. I shared the fall planter hanging on our kitchen door. It’s the main entry we use, walking right into our kitchen, so I’m sharing some fall decor touches I did around the kitchen today, along with some blogging friends part of the Seasons of Home tour, hosted by one of my favorite bloggers Kristen, from Ella Claire! This is our 3rd year kicking off the Seasons of Home Tour series, and I’m so excited to be back at it!
When I decorate our kitchen for the seasons, it’s more about senses for me. Yummy smells coming from the oven, a new candle to celebrate the season we entering into. It doesn’t take much before it really starts to feel like fall around here for me!
We recently redid the countertop on our island, and made this custom butcher block countertop out of hard wood flooring! Yes, flooring – you can read the reveal HERE.
I filled a stoneware pitcher on our island with some fresh branches that reminded me of fall. I typically only decorate our plate rack wall for Christmas, but it always makes me so happy to put fresh garland on it for Christmas, I decided this year I don’t have to wait for Christmas to decorate around my plates.
I used some leftover sprigs and tucked them in here and there, and I love how it feels now.
Over on our bench I kept things pretty simple. I added this new pillow from Studio Pillows and a faux pumpkin I’ve had for a few years from my curated collection with Painted Fox. I feel like I say this every year, but I swear all you have to do is add a pumpkin to any vignette and it instantly feels like fall.
I added just a few simple touches to the open shelves in our kitchen, and instantly they feel fresh for fall!
A faux sprig of fall decor, some feathers and an antique cow bell created a subtle vignette with all the warm colors I start to crave with fall.
