Buffets, Credenzas, even sometimes dressers, yes those pieces of furniture we have in our dining room other than our dining room table. They serve as a place to hold extra linens and serve ware, provide additional storage needs. Fill an empty wall in the room (lol), and give us a space to create cute seasonal vignettes. One of the pieces of furniture I get asked about the most when it pops up in pictures is the dresser / buffet I have in our dining room. So today I’m sharing the story about this dresser, and 16 farmhouse style buffets for your dining room too!
Bathroom Demo
Hi Friends!! Yes you are reading that title right, todays post is all about our bathroom demo! In case you missed it we are teaming up with Wayfair for their #oneroomchallenge and renovating our master bathroom! It’s so exciting! This room has NOT been touched since we’ve lived here, and I can honestly say it feels so good to put my signature on it! Unlike our downstairs bathroom makeover we did last year, the tub and toilet do NOT need to be replaced. However we are replacing the vanity, adding lots of new lighting, and adding a whole BUNCH of tile! EEK! You can read all about my design plan …
Spring Around the Dining Room
Hi Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! This week I’ve joined up with a talented group of bloggers to share part of our home decorated for spring as part of the Seasonal Simplicity Series. There is all kinds of stunning inspiration for you to enjoy! I know I’ve already shared our living room and entryway with you. And even though I’ve done some decorating in the dining room, I simplified our dining room decor for spring, and can’t wait to share it with you. Here is a look at spring around our dining room.
Chalkboard Door Farewell
The chalkboard door is gone! Yep. Now wait, before you start thinking to yourself “oh now, is that the one in her kitchen?”. No, it is not the one in our kitchen. Shortly after I started blogging, I was DIY’ing everything. Anything and everything I could get my hands on, and you better believe I was making and creating up a storm. Some of it good, and some of it not so hot. I was thrilled just to have a home that I could create in, and this new found liberation blogging gave me of being able to try new things and decorate and even though I didn’t have a degree, and actually have people like that things I was doing, kept me on a creative high for a long time. Almost to the point of burnout, but that’s a completely different topic for another post. I was so excited to put my signature on our home, I was crafting and creating everything I could get my hands on so our new house felt like “our home”. One of the things I decided to do was paint the top part of this door we had in our dining room with chalkboard paint, to act as a built in chalkboard.
New Slip Covers for our Sofa from Comfort Works
I am so excited to share all the details with you! I get asked a lot about our sofa, and slip covers in general, and since our sofa came with the slip covers already on them, I was never able to provide a source as to where to get your own. Many of you have asked where you can even find slip covers, or how to go about getting slip covers for the sofas and chairs you already have. Sometimes it’s not necessarily the furniture that we have that we want to replace, but just refreshen the look of them. I have just the solution!
Spring has Sprung {2018}
Eek! Spring has Sprung! Or at least inside our home it has. I should have known better living in New England, and having temps in the 70’s in February that is wouldn’t last, but at least it was nice while it was here, and I while I was taking these photos. Nope, today we are in for another nor’easter. The good news is we have made it into March, so any snow we do get doesn’t last too long. And while mother nature may not have gotten the memo that we have officially “sprung forward”, but at least we have in our house.
Spring Tablescape {2018}
It’s no secret that I love creating Tablescapes. So when my friends Alicia from A Burst of Beautiful reached out to me to join her and some other blogging friends to share a Spring Tablescape, I jumped at the chance. I love coordinating plates and bowls and silverware with some fun florals to create a welcoming table. In fact when I’m working on my place settings, it’s very much like coordinating outfits. It’s fun to switch things up, and pair plates with different bowls, similar to pairing up jeans with a different top. There are so many options. For this spring tablescape I pulled out some of my tried and trues …
Spring Entryway | 2018
Today I’m sharing how I refreshed our front entryway for spring, and it was just the thing that was needed, to help spruce up our entryway and celebrate that Spring is on its way!
