Hello Friends! It’s hard to believe but Mother’s Day is just around the corner. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than gathered around the table. Laughing, sharing memories, and of course taking time to be with one another. I think there is nothing more than moms would rather do, then to sit around the table with the ones you love, and cherish the time spent together.
I shared in yesterday’s post that at first our yard was very overwhelming as a whole, but I found it much easier if I broke it up into designated areas, almost like decorating different rooms in our house. So I’ve rounded up 50+ of my favorite outdoor patio furniture and accessories, which totally help my vision come to life when planning. We began doing some yard work over the weekend and it felt so good to dust the last bits of winter off. And now I have the itch, ha ha! I had shared before, that now with our master bathroom renovation over, we started to turn our focus outside on our yard. We’ve had some projects in mind that we have been setting aside for this upcoming season, and this warm weather has me itching to start. I have a secret. Ok maybe not a major secret, and you may have already noticed it, but I’ve been trying out my green thumb! This is still a new endeavor on my end, so the jury is still out on if I have one, but I have been testing the waters a bit and so far – dare I say – successful?! So let’s talk plants, because we all know I’m a big fan of faux! However today I’m going to show you some new recent plants that have popped up in my life, or should I say house, even though nothing green is popping up outside yet.
Since updating our dining room recently, I realized the last time I listed sources for our dining room was 3 years ago! Buffets, Credenzas, even sometimes dressers, yes those pieces of furniture we have in our dining room other than our dining room table. They serve as a place to hold extra linens and serve ware, provide additional storage needs. Fill an empty wall in the room (lol), and give us a space to create cute seasonal vignettes. One of the pieces of furniture I get asked about the most when it pops up in pictures is the dresser / buffet I have in our dining room. So today I’m sharing the story about this dresser, and 16 farmhouse style buffets for your dining room too!
The chalkboard door is gone! Yep. Now wait, before you start thinking to yourself “oh now, is that the one in her kitchen?”. No, it is not the one in our kitchen. Shortly after I started blogging, I was DIY’ing everything. Anything and everything I could get my hands on, and you better believe I was making and creating up a storm. Some of it good, and some of it not so hot. I was thrilled just to have a home that I could create in, and this new found liberation blogging gave me of being able to try new things and decorate and even though I didn’t have a degree, and actually have people like that things I was doing, kept me on a creative high for a long time. Almost to the point of burnout, but that’s a completely different topic for another post. I was so excited to put my signature on our home, I was crafting and creating everything I could get my hands on so our new house felt like “our home”. One of the things I decided to do was paint the top part of this door we had in our dining room with chalkboard paint, to act as a built in chalkboard.
