If you have been following along on moving journey this year, then you know this year I have no shelves to style for Christmas. Our open shelves in our kitchen at our previous home were one of my favorite areas to style for Christmas. In fact it was usually the first place I would start to decorate, and I just loved the added touch the Christmas decor would add to my already favorite spot in the whole kitchen. If you haven’t seen how I styled the shelves in our old kitchen for Christmas, you can check it out HERE. However, this year instead of styling shelves, I have a new hutch to decorate! The hutch in our dining room is all decked out for the holidays, so today I’m showing you how I styled our hutch in the dining room for Christmas.

of emotions as I think about how blessed we are, and how grateful I am to be hosting this holiday in our new home. Ok, enough with the waterworks … I’m also super excited today, because I am joining some blogging friends, and sharing the first bit of our Christmas decor with all of you. I’m even sharing a quick glimpse of our new Christmas tree!
Dining Room Hutch Styled for Fall
If you caught my Fall Home Tour, then you got a few glimpse’s of our new hutch in the dining room. I promised I would give a closer look of our new hutch in our dining room styled for fall. Honestly I’m already dreaming up all my ideas for how I want to decorate it for Christmas this year, so before we say good-bye to the pumpkins, I wanted to share some more details on how I add some simple fall touches for fall.
Oatmeal Linen Curtains | Our New Drapes for the Living Room
I know choosing window treatments can be hard. Trust me I get it, there are so many options to consider. What style fabric to choose, and at what length. And how high and how wide do I hang my curtain rods. Do I use curtain rings with eyelets or clips? Do you hang curtains with a valance or no valance? And what about shades? Do you see what I mean? The options are endless, but there are a few things that I like to ask myself first to help me narrow down my selection. Come and see how I hang curtains, and our new oatmeal linen drapes in the living room.
Fall Home Tour | 2021
ally the day! I have been hinting that I was working on finishing our fall decor for the last few weeks, and I’ll be honest, there were times I wasn’t really sure if it was going to be done or not, lol! I was so excited to decorate our new home for fall, because this is our first fall in this home. But I think a lot of that excitement was coming from a place of wanting to nest. The air is cooler, the sunlight streaming a little more amber and gold, and I wanted to do was make a giant pot of soup, and bring out all my chunky knit throw blankets, anyone else? Speaking of which, have you tried this soup HERE? It’s delicious, I’m making it tonight, but that’s besides the point. I really just wanted our home to feel warm and cozy. I will be honest, I found it a little difficult to photograph this fall home tour, because this was the first time I was officially photographing this house, I’m still getting to know her. And what lighting works right, and what angels make her shine. I almost scratched this whole post because I wasn’t totally fond of the photos I took, but I reminded myself that done is better than perfect. And since the last time I showed you this house was when we moved in, I wanted to share some of the progress we’ve made. Consider this home tour like a “first date” if you will, of me getting to know our new home through my camera lens.
Simple Fall Decorating Ideas
Hello Friends!! Well I’d like to say I’ve finished decorating for fall already. I’m close, almost done, I just have a few small areas to wrap up. But it’s got me thinking, unlike decorating for the holidays, fall for me is really about celebrating the season changing. It’s not that I need more, or to go all out in my decor, but rather just a few simple changes. So in case you need some encouragement and just a little inspiration, I’ve rounded up a few simple fall decorating ideas to share today.
Fall Vignette ’21
he season has to offer – including the pumpkin spice chocolate covered coffee beans from Trader Joes – YUM! I pulled out my fall decor bin 2 weeks ago, but have yet to finish, or dare I say really pull any of the decor out, LOL! So in an effort to put a little fire under my butt and finish my fall decorating, today I’m sharing a simple fall vignette I assembled, using some minimal decor – and mostly just the power pumpkins.

to know that others feel the same way, especially when it comes to not having everything perfectly finished. I’ve gotten many questions about the new console table in our living room (also shown in yesterday’s post), so today I’m sharing more about our new console table! It’s a funny story, I actually shared on Instagram, how after I sanded down the boards I wanted the table to be made from, I went to the store to run some errands and came back to the table being completely built. Thank you hubby for your prompt building skills! This table really was one of the key pieces in helping our living room feel more complete, and I’m so excited to share all the details with you!
