Hello Friends!! Today I am sharing our daughters most recent bedroom makeover. I honestly can’t even believe I’m using the word “tween” to describe her bedroom, because after all she is still my baby girl. And while she will always be my baby, my now 10 year old daughter had been longing for a room that felt more like her, and a little less pink. She had been asking for her room to be painted blue for over a year, but patiently waited while we finished up other projects around the house. The time finally came for us to tackle her room, and she was more than happy to help me with the painting!
Spring Home Decor Favorites | 2021
Hello Friends! It has been a while since I have shared a round up of my favorite home decor pieces, so I thought I would share some of the things that have caught my eye, and perhaps made it into my shopping cart this spring! I love incorporating a new throw pillow, or some faux florals to help usher in the new season, and nothing says spring quite like adding in some pops of green around your home! With spring just about in full bloom here in New England, I wanted to share some of my home decor favorites to kick off the season!
Christmas in the Kitchen | 2020
Hello Friends!! Today I’m sharing how I decorated our open shelves in the kitchen! Every year when it’s time to pull the Christmas decor out, I head straight to these shelves in our kitchen. They are my most favorite area to decorate for Christmas in our kitchen, if not our entire house! The past few years I’ve kept things pretty consistent in how I’ve decorated them, each year slightly bette than the one before. However this year I was craving a little change. Like the rest of our Christmas decor this year, I’ve added my new favorite Christmas decor staple to our shelves, and while some things still remain, like boughs of greenery and bottle brush trees, I changed things up ever so slightly this year, and I love how fresh it feels!
My NEW Christmas Decor Favorite
There’s a new favorite in town, and you might have noticed it in my Festive Christmas Tablescape earlier this week 🙂 Or if you’ve seen some of my “behind the scenes” Christmas decorating stories on IG lately? I can’t help it, I’ve been adding it everywhere. Open shelves, my centerpiece, even in the vignette I created on my buffet. It first showed up in the faux garland arrangement I did on the new plank wall in our kitchen, and right away I knew I wanted to add this everywhere.
Summer Dining Room | 2020
Hello Friends! I realize it has been a hot minute since I have posted on here. I know this year in general has looked very different for most of us, and I found myself needing to take some time over the course of the summer to really step back and navigate through everything that has been going on. If you caught my last post, I shared this mama’s heart and my thoughts on our kids going back to school. And while today might be September 1st, I realized I never got around to sharing the photos I took of our dining room earlier this summer, because well – life happens, and this past summer I really wanted to unplug with my kids. So before I start sharing all sorts of fall inspiration for this year, I wanted to share how are dining room has looked over theses past couple of months. I hope you enjoy seeing our dining room decorated for summer.
Simple Red, White & Blue Outdoor Decor
Hello friends! I can’t believe that the 4th of July is already this weekend! In one hand I feel like summer has finally arrived here in New England when the 4th of July hits, and our temperatures stay warm, and on the other hand it reminds me that summer is halfway over. However you are celebrating the 4th this year, I’ve rounded up my favorite red, white and blue outdoor decor for a simple way to decorate to help things feel a bit more festive!
Summer Living Room | 2020
Hello Friends!! I’m so excited to be joining in with some other blogging friends today to share the first glimpse’s of summer in our home! Summer is my favorite season in our home. It’s hard to explain, but our home just seems to come alive during the summer months. Maybe it’s all the windows we finally get to open, and let in that warm summer breeze, or spending every possible moment on our farmers porch, watching our chickens in our yard. I can’t quite pin it on just one thing, but I’m so glad summer is finally here. Today I’m sharing my living room, and the few simple changes I made to freshen things up for summer.
Summer Mantle | 2020
Hello Friends! The sweet sounds of summer have graced our backyard! Birds singing again, leaves back on the trees, and the smell of fresh cut grass. While the world around us still feels uneasy and uncertain, I decided to shop my home for this years Summer Mantle decor, making it 100% FREE to me. It’s true I have collected quite the arsenal of home decor over the past few years of blogging, but as I pulled out pieces to use I’m reminded of the advice I always share when it comes to buying things for your home. When you absolutely love what you buy, then you will love the room you decorate it with even more. Making it decor to last through the years, not just provide a quick fix.
Staircase Refresh Ideas
Hello Friends! We are just about wrapping up week 3 of the kids being home from school, and social distancing, and I’m happy to report that the project bug has finally started to kick in. When everything happened, I wondered how long it would take before these four walls around us would start staring back at me, waiting for me to tackle a project. I find myself looking around our house with “projects to tackle” in mind. I’ve been thinking about doing this particular project for awhile, and now seems like the right time to tackle it, so today I’m sharing my ideas on refreshing our staircase.
