5 Ways your Home can tell your Story
If you caught my post yesterday, then you know I shared how I believe our homes should tell not just any story, but our story. You can read it HERE, in case you missed it, but I pointed out some key pieces in my own home to share how it reflects us. I want our home to tell a story, Our story. While I love finding great buys at HomeGoods and Marshalls, my favorite things to decorate with are those that have a story. So today I’m sharing 5 ways your Home can tell your Story too!
A Year in Review {2018}
HAPPY New Year friends!! Honestly, my mind is still just in shock that the holidays have come and gone. I find myself hopeful with what the new year will bring, but also asking myself the question “Where has the year gone?”. I love taking a moment to pause and look back over the past year, as we are about to embark on a new one, because when I find myself asking that question, I’m reminded of just how much was accomplished this past year. I’m ready to jump into the new year after I’ve taken one last look back. 2018 was quite a year, filled with so many wonderful things, so lets take a look at the year in review.
5 Tips for Decorating for Christmas
Do you hit a wall with decorating? I mean, I think we all hit a wall at some point or another, but do you hit a wall when it comes to decorating for Christmas? I do. No joke, as much as I love decorating for christmas, and anticipate it all year long, there comes a point ohhh about 2/3 of the way in to decorating our home for Christmas that I hit a wall. I’ve put together 5 Tips to help you and I get through the holiday decor blitz. Because let’s face it, sometimes just the thought of doing all that decorating for just 1 month can seem completely daunting and a waste of time. But I’m here to tell you are not alone, and to offer some tips on how to get through it!
I Gave Myself Permission
Hello Friends!!! I can’t believe we are in November already. I’m trying desperately to soak in everything this season has to offer, as well as finishing up a few projects I’ve been secretly working on around our home, before I begin to break out the Christmas decor. But I had an epiphany recently, and I wanted to share it with you. I know what you’re thinking, permission? Permission for what? But before I can give you this answer, I have to explain how I got to this conclusion.
Kitchen Design Trend | Wood Cabinets
One of my favorite things to do here on the blog, is share things I’m currently obsessed with, design trends, or just plain ‘ol things that I am loving in the home decor world. So today, I’m doing just that! I’ve been noticing a trend lately in kitchen designs, and while white cabinets still tend to be on fire (which I am perfectly ok with), there is a new(ish) cabinet in town that seems to be making an entrance.
Embracing the Process {Part 2}
Hello Friends!! Yesterday I shared one of the risks I took early on in my blogging days, when I was first starting out in my business!! To clarify I don’t not consider myself a risk taker, or one who embraces chaos and uncertainty which are the first words that come to mind when I hear the phrase “risk-taker”. But I’ve been slightly surprised with myself over the last five years or so, as I’ve begun to grow my business, and realize that risk taking is necessary process in order grow. I believe it’s all part of embracing the process as we stretch ourselves to do bigger and better things! So today I’m going to continue with Part 2 of Embracing the Process. If you missed Part 1 I would highly encourage you to read that part first, so this doesn’t seem totally out of left field. Anyways here we go….
Finding your Dream
I believe that everyone has a dream placed inside of them. I don’t think it matters what age you are, or your race or geographic location. I believe we were all born with a dream deep down inside of our hearts just waiting to come forth. I’ve been really feeling encouraged this past year to encourage women (and men) to chase their God-sized dreams, and not let fear of failure or other people scare them from walking into their full potential. Because I believe that when we are walking out in that God-sized dream we are walking in our fullest potential.
A dream…
I began to feel my heart strings tugged again to start exploring becoming an interior decorator. I had my hands full with two babies eighteen months apart, a new home I hadn’t even scratched the surface on all my plans for yet, and still I had this undeniable urge to start some kind of a creative business. You see though, I had been here before. Everytime I got this close, I came up with an excuse as to why not, and talked myself out of it.
