Hello friends!! Thank you SO much for all of your sweet comments over the weekend, as I shared who my grandmother was to me, and the impact she had on my life! I dedicated my book to her, and after sharing it with everyone on Instagram, I knew I just had to share more of who this amazing woman was! You can read all about my grandmothers house HERE, in case you missed it, but after reflecting on the type of woman she was, it got me thinking – “How did she do it all?” If you have ever struggled with getting together with others, or even inviting someone over, you are in good company my friend, because so have I! Today I’m sharing the struggles I’ve felt, and the gift it is when we gather.
Tips for a Stronger Marriage
Hello Friends! If you’ve caught some of my more recent posts than you know I’ve been working on my husbands new office space for his company, and in all my time I’ve spent over there lately it’s gotten me to do a lot of thinking and reflecting on our marriage. Tomorrow we celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary, and I thought it would be fun to share some of my reflective thoughts with all of you. In case you are in need of some encouragement, or perhaps a different point of view. Or maybe just a closer look into our marriage. So today, I’m taking a break from painting, and home decor, to talk about our married life.
18 Summers
Hello friends!! I’m going off the home decor topic today for a little “mom-life” inspiration. While I love all things home and home decor, and creating a home my family will love, to me it means nothing if I don’t have them to share it with. So I’m taking a quick break from sharing about home decor today to share a little bit of my recent mom thoughts with you!
35 things by 35
First I should disclaim, I love writing lists. Like really love writing thing down in list form. When my kids where toddlers it was the only way I felt like I could bring order to my day. So here is my list of 35 things (my then 28 yr. old self) wanted to have done by the time I turned 35, which happens to be this Friday!
Finding the Meaning in the Mundane
Hello friends!! And Happy Friday!! I can hardly believe that the weekend is here already. I feel like I blinked and this past week went by, but I have to tell you I am so excited, because tomorrow we are getting outside to start our spring cleanup, and I am itching to get it started! My wheels have already been turning on what new plants I want to add this year, and some landscaping goals I want to tackle. If you’ve never seen the outside of our house I shared some views of it in last years landscaping plan post, HERE. But today I wanted to pop in really quick and share with you a recent post I wrote for the Christian Mommy blog.
I felt like a bad Mom
I remember feeling like a bad mom. Not like I made a mistake and feeling remorse, but I remember feeling like I was completely failing as a mom, and that made me a terrible mother. 7 years ago I was in the throws of toddler hood with an 18 – month old and a 3 year old. I stayed at home full time with my babies (still do – only now they are in school), which had always been a dream of mine, ever since I was a little girl.
Happy Valentines Day!
While I don’t have any gift ideas or Valentine’s day crafts to share with you, I did want to take a moment and leave you this note. A thank you note of sorts if you will.
Goals for 2019
Each year I like to start things off by writing down some goals I have for the new year. I’ll be sharing more on how I do this personally, but I also set goals for the blog, and projects I want to do around our home. My husband and I joke that the winter is our “Project Season”, but typically it’s because we are cooped up inside due to impending snow. It’s fun to look back on goals I’ve set in past years. We don’t always get to every house goal we have for that year, but that’s ok, they are just goals, so we can shoot again for them the next year too. So here are my goals for 2019 for around our home.
A Year in Review {2018}
HAPPY New Year friends!! Honestly, my mind is still just in shock that the holidays have come and gone. I find myself hopeful with what the new year will bring, but also asking myself the question “Where has the year gone?”. I love taking a moment to pause and look back over the past year, as we are about to embark on a new one, because when I find myself asking that question, I’m reminded of just how much was accomplished this past year. I’m ready to jump into the new year after I’ve taken one last look back. 2018 was quite a year, filled with so many wonderful things, so lets take a look at the year in review.
