I’m sure you’ve probably heard me say this before, but one of my favorite ways to start the transition of my home decor over to a new season is with flowers. Or branches, or stems, or weeds – lol. Whatever I can get my hands on, that I find inspiring me of the changes taking place in nature outside my window. Today I’m sharing some photos of a fall floral arrangement I made, and you can watch the tutorial video to see how this arrangement came to life step by step!
Celebrating my NEW Book & a Special GIFT for you
Hi Friends! I’m so excited to share more about my NEW book, The Gift of Home, and a special gift for you to celebrate! I started my blog from the passion that I want everyone to be able to Love the space that they call Home. Not just the ones who seem to have a knack for decorating, or don’t seem to struggle with putting a room together – EVERYONE. In my new book I share a lot of my own personal journey in decorating, from the time I was a little girl, to a young adult trying to find my style. For me I never fit into just one decorating style so I always felt like I just didn’t fit in. Until I realized that your true style is one that reflects your own personal style. And that friends is a style that can never go out of style or be wrong.
The Gift of Home | My NEW Book!
Hi Friends! I am so excited to spill all the details with you today on my NEW book coming out – The Gift of Home. In case you hadn’t heard I wrote another book! Can you believe it? I’m still marveling over the first one, and to now have a 2nd book baby coming out into the world – somebody pinch me please, because never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever write a book, let along TWO!! This book also feels a tad sentimental because I wrote it while we were still living in our last house. At the time I was writing it I didn’t know just how soon we would be moving, and I feel so thankful to have this keepsake from the house we spent a decade living in and growing our family.
New Console Table
to know that others feel the same way, especially when it comes to not having everything perfectly finished. I’ve gotten many questions about the new console table in our living room (also shown in yesterday’s post), so today I’m sharing more about our new console table! It’s a funny story, I actually shared on Instagram, how after I sanded down the boards I wanted the table to be made from, I went to the store to run some errands and came back to the table being completely built. Thank you hubby for your prompt building skills! This table really was one of the key pieces in helping our living room feel more complete, and I’m so excited to share all the details with you!
Progress | Embracing Where We Are
Hi friends. Today we are celebrating Progress! And by celebrating I mean, embracing where we are at, right now in this very moment. I’m sure we are all on our journey with something. Am I right?! Maybe we are working towards a new goal, a new number on the scale, or getting back into routine. Or maybe you are working on some home projects just like I am right now? One thing I feel like doesn’t get mentioned or celebrated enough is progress. It’s so easy to get swept up in the before and after. I mean who doesn’t love a good before and after picture? I sure do! Whether it’s of an insane home makeover, or even a weight loss journey, the before and after leaves me in awe every time. But something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately is it’s during the progress that the real work happens. Let me tell you what I mean ~
Currently Loving | vol. 5
Hello Friends! inspiration, a paint color, a fashion trend, a new gadget, a book, or even song that I can’t stop singing. There’s no particular rhyme or reason, or order in which I share them, just a compilation of all the things that have caught my eye as of lately. Here We Go!
Paint Colors in our New Home
Hello Friends!
Thank you so much for all of your kind words on our New Home tour! I know it’s not always easy watching a blogger move, especially when you absolutely loved the house they lived in before. Trust me I get it, I have totally experienced some of those mixed emotions as I’ve watched some of my favorite bloggers move from houses they were in when I first found them, and wondered why they left it. I know I have yet to really tell the whole story as to why we moved into our new home, in the same town, I promise I will soon! I’m just so thankful that so many of you are here for the journey as we have begun the process of making this new house our home. For me part of that process includes paint color choices. I believe picking out paint colors for your walls is like picking out a pair of jeans. It’s personal, and you want it to reflect your style and mood that you are in. While the current colors in our new home aren’t bad colors by any means, some of them don’t reflect my personal style as much as I’d like. Some of you had asked what the paint colors were that were on the walls when we moved in. So today I’m sharing all the paint colors in our new home.
New Home Tour | Part 2
Hello Friends!! Today I am back sharing the second part of new Home Tour with – the upstairs! While I didn’t photograph every nook and cranny to show you, I feel like this best represents the rooms we use most. Of course if you watch our New Home Tour on my YouTube channel you get a feel for what it’s like to walk around the upstairs layout of our home. I know I’ll share more close ups and details of the upstairs as I begin to make it feel more like our home – including one of the ideas I have to cover one of our hallway walls with family photos. Until we get to those projects, for now here is a look at the bedrooms and master suite in our New Home Tour – Part 2!
Home Exterior Inspiration
Thank you so much for all your sweet comments on Part 1 of our New Home Tour! Before we jump in to Part 2, I wanted to show you some of the inspiration photos I’ve been saving for the exterior of our home, and share some exciting news!! You’ve probably heard me say before, how vital I believe it is to have 3-5 inspiration photos when it comes to decorating the inside of your home, but I also believe the same is true when it comes to the outside of our homes as well! Gathering inspiration photos is so helpful in providing clarity to your design likes, as well as helping you see an end result to shoot for. This doesn’t mean that your space is going to come out exactly like the space in your inspiration photo, but it does help guide you, and give you vision when you are in the process of creating a space you love. So today I’m sharing the photos I’ve saved that are my inspiration for the exterior of our home.
